Ferenc Puskás achieved a lot, i would still be worried if he was signed by Man Utd.......

Indeed. Fortunately Larsson is a bit more mobile.

Mind you, Puskás is in the right age range for Rooney.

Adam, you overestimate your squad, if not your team. Look at your subs at Celtic Park, Celtic bought on subs who could change things, Man U brought on Evera (sp?) and O'Shea. Larsson was and probably still is  a better player than any striker you've got, it just depends on him getting to play enough for you to realise what we, Barca, and everyone else are missing.

FFS for the last time. LARSSON IS GOOD, BUT HE IS NOT GOD!!!

This is turning into a pet hate of mine, celtic supporters are more bloody short sited than Liverpool fans!!!

Larsson better than Rooney, please stop taking the piss.

My mistake - I missed one word - TEAM. And he is a better team player than any other top striker I've seen.

and I'm Man Utd and I've said, I admire and respect Larsson. I was sure he'd do a good job for us and he did. I didn't expect him to rip up trees and again, I don't think he did. We've been stronger with him and we could certainly do with him staying but you have to respect his decision.

in the link you put up, this hack is comparing two 21 year olds who are widely expected to make a huge impact on world football to a well respected older player who's certainly made a good account of himself. We'll see how many medals Rooney and Ronaldo have on their mantle pieces at the end of their careers. not only is he comparing players at opposite ends of their careers, he's not even comparing like for like position wise. Ronaldos goal tally is impressive for a wide midfielder and Rooneys job isn't to score 20+ goals a season. it's to score 10 - 15 and to make another 10 - 15 for a out and out striker.

Premiership WAS worthy of Larrson and he could have had a great career in the premiership if he'd chosen to. Not many managers would turn him away Im sure. A young Larsson-esque player is definitely what we're looking for.

Adam, I think you completely missed the point about what that reporter was trying to say. Lampard complaining about 100k a week? younger strikers only interested in the most money and girls? that's not what a true top class professional is about. Larrson got paid, did his job and that's it. He was completely proffesional in everything he did. you never saw him in the papers for anything negative. And he didn't just do it for the money.

that's what separates him from most of todays footballplayers (with the possible exception Of Steven Gerrard and the Neville (God help me) brothers).

It would be wrong to say I've been won over by Larsson as I've always rated him, but he has shown beyond a doubt that he could have done a job in the Premiership at a top club.

Does anyone know what Larsson's goals/games ratios were like outside of Scotland please?

Thanks.

the guy spends more time talking about Rooney and Ronaldos abilities in comparison than he does talking about professional attitudes. about 5 or 6 paragraphs at a quick second glance. If he was writing an article about profesionalism and not being in the papers for negative stuff there's plenty of Utd players that fit the bill.

pretty sure I got the point.
