its not impossible to play tight in a rebuy. Yes it can be very important to mix your game up so you dont become predictable but that should not be a problem in the early stages of a rebuy where the other players at the table are more than likely paying way too much attention on what cards they hold instead of reading yours for the obvious reason of getting their chips in and gambling, hoping to double up. So yes the standard can be considered poor (as in players become more involved in their own hands when the famous saying in NLHE is play the player not the cards). But back to my first statement tight players can find rebuys very profitable. As blinds are still usually kept at around 25 min increments and blinds fairly low and 10 players at the table it shouldnt take you that long (statistically speaking) to find a hand. 1 in every 16 times you should find a pair in your hole cards so again theoretically speaking you should not be having to stake more than 2 BB's before you have a chance to push your chips in. So if you get one caller at best your an 80% fav to a lower pocket pair, more than likely though in this sort of rebuy stricture tournament you are looking at a coin flip situation/ at worst an 8 to 2 dog and perhaps if you still dont feel a 50/50 sounds good enough then perhaps a freezeout tourney is more suited to u.
And so leads on to the APAT. I have to be honest i havent played in the online series but i have made the journeys to brum and newcastle and have to say they were brilliantly organised by tighty, tikay, des and mel. Bust out quite early in brum but was one of the main chip leaders on day 1 in newcastle until i made the decision to go for win instead of just making money and busted out on my coin flip gamble with my AKs against QQ and lost!!!
The standard of play was very high. I would say you could split up the field into 4 groups.
1)The older folk who just grinded away all day
2)The younger, online gen who were very agressive and always on the steal
3)The newbies to live poker who played very very tight and most of which got blinded off
4) The women all who were of an excellent standard. (They scared me the most!). Almost impossible to read!
Cant wait for the next one in my home nation of WALES

which i hope to play in and win.
Hope you turn up kinboshi. You should come to at least one of the APAT live events and it should be in the best one of the whole schedule- The
WALES 1 !!!!
