Playing my usual positional lag game.

Full ring game, with the usual mix of bad players. I'm having my way raising and re raising with position. When a mateyboy sits direct to my left, after a few orbits hes clearly decided to exploit my game and starts to throw some re raises back at me when he has position and i have gained some respect for his game. We both have around 3x the max buy in.

I change my game a bit and tighten up my raising requirements in late position in unopened pots hoping for an oppotunity to trap him. Blinds are $1/$2.

In the cutoff i get dealt AA when he is the button and i raise the unopened pot to 4x the BB and he re pops me to 12x the BB.

Do you get trappy here or re re pop?

I would probably call if he is as described, probably has Kx with a spade although he could easily have a set here aswell.

i'm not to bothered by the result or the individual actions, just wether this is a bad way to play someone who is trying to exploit his position over you at the table.

To trap or keep it abc with a big hand when someone is pushing you about.

I would have check raised the flop, scary board but with the A of spades, plenty of outs, he may also re-reraise with any K putting you on only the A of spades

Then again, there is a reason why I dont play 1/2 often lol

I try not to get too trappy when I'm so deep and out of position.  As played, I think its tough to call, looks like you've bet $50 into a $100 pot and he's shoved for $500.  Very opponent dependant against complete donks its a call, against most it would be a fold.  If he regularly overbets you should get a better opportunity (like getting it all in on the flop!)

Should definitely have tried to get more money in preflop and on the flop imo.

Nothing wrong with the flat call pre-flop if your stacks are smaller (e.g. 100BB or less) As you're both so deep then you have to re-raise big here.

Flop play is fine. You always have to be concerned if a King (or Queen) flops once you've been re-raised pre-flop and you're the one holding Aces.

The pot sits at $75 on the turn. I like your 1/2 pot turn bet, although check/calling is an option too.

Once he jams, then it's around $525 to call!. You've enough experience of him to respect his game, and a decent player is not going to push here without a very strong hand. He almost certainly has a set of kings, leaving you just 12 outs.

Easy fold.
