I'm trying to work out why I'm not quite getting there in tournaments at the moment so I'm going to look at exit/damaging hands to see where I'm going wrong.

So, tourrney 1, any thoughts on the way I played it?

I'm 20 out of 22 left, money is on 18.  I called the BB mainly because I'd have nothing for absolutely ages, AKs isn't too bad even though my other cards are crap.  Then I made 2 pairs on the flop with my bad cards.

Should I have bet into this?   Trouble is the chip leader is in the pot.  If I don't bet, he will bet then what do I do?   The turn card  I really didn't want but am I pot commited?  I thought so so I called.  If I'd have folded I'd have had to double up to still be 20 out of 22.

I think (in hindsight having lost the hand) I should have just folded preflop.  I usually look for some sort of relationship between all four cards but not having played a hand for ages I thought I'd see what happens on the flop with this one.  The two pairs with my weak two hards was a bit o a surprise.  Fold preflop next time, wait for better times, especially around the bubble.  Shame the CL had so many chips, I'd have folded his hand preflop for sure Cheesy

theres no chance you should fold this preflop.. theres 5600 in the pot and 800 to call, thats 7/1 rite there. Calling pre is super standard, your hand on the flop is pretty weak with little chance of improvment, so call preflop, and check flop with a view to folding if theres any action behind.
