It is a subtlety thing. In this very specific case I thought he was the type who might RRRAI but might actually fold if I RRAI.

Sometimes in live play I instinctually "Just KNOW" how I have to surgicly handle a given player to get them to do my bidding. This time it worked like a charm. Other times it doesn't.
