If you are staying at the village then we can play Village Poker! The one where the short stack is the BB.

I played on one of these at the Ladbrokes casino in London. One problem was that when two players were all in (in a cash game) it automatically flipped their cards.

One nice touch was that when everyone folded to a bet you had the option of showing both cards or just one card. I wish more online poker rooms had this option.

Like londonpokergirl though, I prefer to play with read cards/chips.

Edit: speeling

A bit off topic: I hear Pete "The Proffessor" Singleton chopped first place in one of the events. Did he chop this with you Flushie? If he did, how much was it?

Lol, as if I'd try to wind you up Wink

I didn't see Pete today, although I was supposed to... Unfortunately in the pursuit of straighter teeth I had a brace fitted (last Wednesday) to straighten 'em up. Being a bit vain I went for an invisible one that goes behind the teeth... So, okay, you can't see it. But, jeeez it hurts. It's ripped my tongue to shreds. I can't talk, can't eat, and worse yet - can't drink any beer!!! Sad

So, I didn't go down in the end. Shame, as was looking forward to the party tonight Sad

Pete emailed me this morning to say that he chopped 1st place and that he'd met you too. He didn't say who he'd chopped with, or how much it was for...

there were three companies demoing these things and I played on all off them.

horrible horrible invention.

physical information like how a person handles their chips and cards, how chips are staked, whether they cap their cards, if their voice or hands shake as they make a bet, etc, etc. all gone
Players frequently leaned over and looked at their neighbours cards and as there's no dealer it's left to the players to police collusion themelves.
I don't think the screens are any less intimitating than cards and chips. if anything the touch screen maybe harder for novice players because they're having to work it out for themselves rather than other players or the dealer assisting.
The table takes a rake from every pot without providing anything in the way of service. you are paying purely for the privalage of using the table, without the benifit of a dealer and nice cards / chips.
dispite the fact 10 people are sitting playing online poker against each other it gains none of the speed of online, infact I've never seen live poker play so slow.

Only positive thing I can think of to say is that the players name is on display so you get to know your opponents by name. that said, it takes a while to figure out which name corresponds to which player.

I could hear the reps claiming it was faster than normal live poker (not true) less intimidating (nope) and more fun (there was far less conversation than normal)

I'm sure these things won't catch on, especially at between £150,000 and £200,000 each. there were some magnificent poker tables on display that I'm sure we'd all much rather sit on.
