But i'll be playing my 2nd team / new signings against you on sunday as i'm saving my first team for the league. Having won my last 2 games in the league to move up to 4th spot and with my next two league games both very winnable i want to make sure my team stays fresh for the league games. 3rd to 6th are only seperated on run rate and so i need to make sure i win my next two games and win them well.

I need my players to perform out of their skins tomorrow.  I'm GFI against an opponent who on paper are a lot better than me but they have a weakish bowling attack.  Hopefully my bowlers can limit them to 300ish and my batsmen can knock them off.  Containing their destructive start bat who has a 40k BTR and ave of 253 may be easier said than done though.  Hopefully they won't feel the need to GFI against me otherwise I suspect I will have little or no chance.

Destructives can get out cheap though, especially in the opening 10 overs, which is a glimmer of hope.

I'm playing a team who has yet to win this season, their morale should be shot so hopefully an easy win, I might even decide to TIE.

Had hoped to put together a decent opening partnership for a change - our survey said: X

and yet again our survey says: X

and yet again and again and again our survey says: X

2.5 W Cumberworth to Abel
That's out, what lovely bowling! Cumberworth makes Abel play forward to an outswinger and it takes the edge. Straight to Keeley in the slips! Classic swing bowling!

and i lose an opener again while the score is still in single digits - on the plus side it does bring to the crease my highest run scorer who has one of my divisions best averages

(and if that isn't a bok i don't know what is!! Cheesy)

I had one of those DOH moments this morning

I put 5 guys in my team up for sale the other day, including my opener, whom I put a minimum on which was at least 100k more than I'd pay for him..

Of course someone bought him, and not the other 4 Sad

It's meant that I have a bloke opening who I havent played as of yet since I started....

i'm currently 41-1 from 8, and this untested bloke is 15 from 19 balls

End of Over 15: 30-4, runrate=2.00

Yes, yes, more of the same from Sheriff I hear you all cry in cyberspace, except this is my opponent batting at the moment!

It not exactly much to shout about, as he's 0-6 in the league so far so its more of a 'daren't lose' than a 'must win' game.  Still, after 7 losses in a row it makes a refreshing change so far.

My spinners aren't so much taking it easy as sipping a pina colardo with one hand and chucking the ball down the pitch with the other. The bottom-of-the-league-without-a-win-all-season-and-managed-by-a-bot team is somehow 91-3 off 19 against me. Thankfully, Du Toit is going to have a bowl in a minute so he should knock them over but I was expecting to have skittled them before he was even warming up!

Finch 5-0-29-0

Report to the general manager's office for discussions about your contract renewal

End of Over 31: 114-7, runrate=3.68
Finch 6-1-29-0
Asielue* 0 (0 balls)
North 1 (16 balls)

Last Wicket: Hawkins b. Mitchell 0 (FOW: 114/7)

30.6 . Finch to North
Virgo collects the ball. No run.
30.5 . Finch to North
Flighted up nicely on off stump, forward, watchfully easing it to cover in defence.
30.4 . Finch to North
Flighted up full and straight, firmly pushed straight back to Finch.
30.3 . Finch to North
Shortish ball angling away outside off stump. North looks to cut but is done by a slight lack of bounce.
30.2 . Finch to North
Finch gets that one to fizz a bit of the pitch and Virgo takes it comfortably.
30.1 . Finch to North
Shortish ball just outside off stump. The batsman shuffles across to it and forces it up to mid on in defence.

that's better

End of Over 33: 121-8, runrate=3.67
Finch 7-2-29-1
Asielue* 5 (3 balls)
Graddon 0 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: North c. Virgo b. Finch 2 (FOW: 121/8)

32.6 . Finch to Graddon
Some of the fans have fallen asleep after that one. Wide of off and left.
32.5 . Finch to Graddon
Sweeps, bit mistimed, fine leg quick on the ball.
32.4 . Finch to Graddon
Fullish ball just outside off stump, strongly driven back on the off side of the pitch. Finch fields smartly off his own bowling to prevent a single.
32.3 W Finch to North
OUT! Thin edge and Virgo takes a textbook catch.
32.2 . Finch to North
North stuggled to keep that one off the stumps.
32.1 . Finch to North
Flicked around to Cormack at fine leg.

better still  all out for 123. That'll do - I need a n.r.r boost.

I'm going along ok:

End of Over 40: 247-2, runrate=6.18
Caldera   10-0-83-0
Disley*   123 (112 balls)
Clarke   101 (93 balls)

Yes, I know, only 2 people in my team can actually bat...
