I'm going to have to work for a win today as my batsmen have underperformed. I lost my best batsmen 1st ball and have since limped to 221 all out.

I needn't have worried, bowled them for 68

i will gratefully accept the draw....

And that's the end of the match. It has ended in a tie!!
puntersmen 281-4
norfolkngood 281-8

End of Over 50: 281-8, runrate=5.62
Pace 10-0-36-3
Van der merwe* 32 (19 balls)
 9 (6 balls)

49.6 2 Pace to Brooker
He's made a mess of the stumps at the non-striker's end with a powerful straight drive. They will only pick up two. Unlucky.
49.5 1 Pace to Van der merwe
Dabbed to point for a quick single. Butcher shies at the non-striker's end but misses.
49.4 1 Pace to Brooker
Pushed into the covers and a quick single is taken.
49.3 1 Pace to Van der merwe
Turned off his pads to square leg.
49.2 3 Pace to Brooker
Played to backward point who overthrows. A single becomes three.
49.1 1 Pace to Van der merwe
Oops! A misfield off his own bowling allows Van der merwe through for a quick single.

End of Over 49: 272-8, runrate=5.55, reqrunrate=10.00 (281-4)

I have joined the revolution.

Some newbie questions;

Should I be setting nets for every day or changing them every day ?

How far ahead can you challenge ?

Ball park figure for income from a home game at the start ?

In your experience is it better to transfer a side or coach what you got ?

Is the transfer system any good ?

I assume there is no actual 'ingame' management - just set your orders and wait for the result ?

Thanks for any advice.

Should I be setting nets for every day or changing them every day ? You can do as you please but the more they train the more their morale will change, you can also change how hard they train which may help with morale

How far ahead can you challenge ? Friendlies are on a sunday, so i would imagine you can challenge for the following sunday after your game.

Ball park figure for income from a home game at the start ? Not alot coz not enough members. Get a half decent side make some ground improvements obviously gate reciepts and members will increase

In your experience is it better to transfer a side or coach what you got ? TRail and error, if you get smashed in your first game then put a few on the list and bring some new ones in

Is the transfer system any good ?  Yes. I got a batsmen 3 weeks ago 1st innings 100 + 2nd innings 67 and today still going strong 122 NO

I assume there is no actual 'ingame' management - just set your orders and wait for the result ? yes but you can watch the live commentary.

Got off to a great start today in the blonde poker cup.

End of Over 39: 226-0, runrate=5.79
Cherry 8-0-48-0
Haynes* 104 (125 balls)
Os 108 (112 balls)

lost some wickets since though and at the end of my 50 overs i was 318/3
Quiet happy with that, obviously jellystones batsmen are going to be better than his bowlers so we will have to see how it pans out.
p.s has anyone gone 50 overs without losing a wicket Huh?

Should I be setting nets for every day or changing them every day ?

Nets take effect once a week, on a Monday around 11pm. How you use them is up to you, at the moment I have 2 players who keep the same nets every week and I'm using the remaining nets to round off some edges on my other players, changing them round every few weeks once i've got the player to the level I want.

How far ahead can you challenge ?

A week in advance, e.g. I can challenge now for next Sunday.

Ball park figure for income from a home game at the start ?

Around £30k I think, I've expanded my ground and got more members than you start with and get around £80k now.

In your experience is it better to transfer a side or coach what you got ?

Depends what your starting side is like, mine was rubbish, I have 2 left from my starting squad - the rest were fired as no one would buy them. Other people have got some great players to start with.

Is the transfer system any good ?

Yes, if you know what you're looking for. My openers today cost £7k (£1k and £6k), they put on a 187 for the 1st wicket and both average over 100 this season.

I assume there is no actual 'ingame' management - just set your orders and wait for the result ?

Yes

I forgot to mention something that is vital (and pretty helpful) when planning your finances. During match weeks you will get a subsidy of £55k a week to help your finances due to the the First Class games not running at the minute (will be coming in a few months time).
