3 days time, first ones are available shortly after midnight tomorrow.

it's £30k for about .9 of a level of academy so you will need to spend £30k several times to get it up to the top. Even then you might end up with rubbish!

Unless you have lots of ITS it's not worth it and even then it would be a big debate for a starting team. I've completely ignored the academy for now (bar taking my free pull every week).

The level of academy has no effect on the skills of the youth pull, only how many ITS you can apply.

That's more money than I've ever had in my account.

Likewise! Wink

Although I'm only £30k in the red so will be fine come Sunday, will be in the money when the player he replaces goes though (got a valuation of £750k+ for him Wink)

Now just need between 1-3 more new trainees and I'll be happy with my nets!

I had some stiff competition to buy him - had to outbid Cow Corner (number 2 in English Div 1).

Here's my newly acquired trainee. With only having one slot available and a budget of 80k I went for a wk/batsman.  He may play in the Blonde Cup but won't make the Friday team - yet Wink

23. Jermain Cohen - 17 yo, BT Rating=4,235
RH Batsman, RF Bowler, respectable batting form, respectable bowling form, fresh
A destructive player with abysmal leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: competent
Batting: mediocre Concentration: mediocre
Bowling: worthless Consistency: worthless
Fielding: abysmal
wages:684p/w so I'm optimistic he's a high med batter (or a high comp keeper)

He cost 65k, putting me 75k in the red. I wanted a comp/comp batter but soon reaslised that'll have to wait for next year, as they are going for around 150-200k

Plan is to double bat net for five weeks then single net to hit respectable batting by the end of the season. Also six weeks of wk nets and five weeks of stamina nets.

Next season he'll bat and have 1xwk, 1xbat, 1xfield and four weeks of stamina nets

Season after that he'll bat and keep wicket, and net on1 xbat and 1xstam

So, in two seasons time I'll have a high prof/strong bt, strong wk comp stam med field number six/wk (I hope)
and in three seasons time he'll be superb/superb bat, strong wk, strong stam, med field
and then he goes onto 1x bat for another two seasons until he's quite remarkable.

I've seen batters with med stam, comp bat (1-2 nets from resp) and med cons going for around £100k.

It's so tempting to buy one, but I really need bowlers (where I can't find any decent ones!)

Ideally I want an F or FM, but i'd settle for 1 M as they can be handy and seem to do ok on most surfaces.

my plan for the season is 2 F 2 M and 2 spinners using both F all the way through while using 1 spinner unless on a spinners pitch when i drop a M

i plan on opening with a F and using the other one to tear into the middle order or take out the openers when they tire spinners keep the RR down and the m pacers offer a varitey so that i am not bowling 2 samish bowlers for prolonged spells

my thinking might work in the real game no idea how it will work in an artifical enviorment

i think more needs to be made of the captain though i would like to see him turning to a part time bowler to put in an over or 2 if PLAN A goes pear shaped (just like vaughan asking petersen to bowl an over)

The captain and extra bowlers is planned for the FC games and will probably be ported across to the OD games.

Oh dear!!  Any chance of a cup shock has gone as I have a batsman bowling.  Oh and his bowling rating his worthless and he will be bowling 5 of his overs at the end, happy days.  Not sure how thats happened, I sold a bowler from my starting XI earlier in the week and was 95% sure i'd sorted it but doesn't appear to be the case, I must have forgotten to confirm the changes.

End of Over 27: 201-1, runrate=7.44
Barry 7-0-58-1
Miah* 1 (7 balls)
Rodrigo 105 (77 balls)

they are treating the match as a session in the nets

atleast we have 1 wicket and we aint going for 9 an over yet
