End of Over 28: 158-3, runrate=5.64

The pitch is uneven, so wickets should fall, thinking 250 would be a good score!

My 2 best bats in now with not much batting to come afterwards (i've left myself vulnerable in that sense this season!)

another century for Hendrie

here we go again.........

from 272/2  both openers hitting centurys

End of Over 45: 280-5, runrate=6.22
Walton 8-1-49-4
Van der merwe* 28 (23 balls)
Anton 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Hezeltine c. Murdoch b. Walton 1 (FOW: 280/5)

44.6 W Walton to Hezeltine
Hezeltine has top-edged that one straight up into the air and is making his way back to the pavillion before the catch is even taken.
44.5 1 Walton to Van der merwe
Gently played down to long on and Gould runs around to keep it down to a single.
44.4 1 Walton to Hezeltine
Stands up tall and works it away to third man.
44.3 W Walton to Butcher
Charges down the wicket only to be deceived by the slower offcutter which pegs back middle and leg stump! Bowled 'em!
44.2 W Walton to Joele
Hook, line and sinker! The short ball is too hard to resist for Joele, who takes the bait and duly hooks it straight to the man waiting at deep backward square.
44.1 1 Walton to Van der merwe
Van der merwe is finding the gaps like a minibus taxi in rush hour traffic.

It's things like this I find most frustrating:

48.5   W   Haughton to Wright
It's in the air, I think Cawson is just too far away.....no, he's caught it! Cawson went down in a tangle of arms and legs and came up holding the ball! Brilliant!
48.4    1   Haughton to Clarke
Smart batting by Clarke. Rotating the strike and picking up a quick single.
48.3    1   Haughton to Wright
        Solid stroke to mid off.
48.2    W   Haughton to Mullins
That's pure village from Mullins. He swung the bat as hard he could but the ball simply went straight down long on's throat.
48.1    1   Haughton to Clarke
An athletic, full length dive restricts them to a single.

Clarke being the strong batsman, the others being worthless tailenders. Hog the strike man!

48.6 was, rather predictably, a wicket as well.

End of Over 50: 299-10, runrate=5.98

Clarke 97 not out.

Tis the day for collapses.

Crashed to 223-10, I suspect my opponent bowled a newbie for 10 straight to lull me into a false sense of security.

Come on bowlers you can do it.

Sigh.
