I think it might be interesting actually (and this goes for the whole of the cup) - you would expect the div 5 teams to have better teams, but not by too much, but the div 6 teams are more likely to be winning every week and have good morale (which helps performance).

What if you have a Division 6 team and wouldnt know what a "W" was if it jumped up and bit you on the nose Sad

I've just splashed out another £204,257 from the club coffers on my final trainee - a player who was exactly what I was after, a destructive fast bowler with a silly hat.

Quite pleased with my pre season transfers - managed to get 3 quality trainees in, offload an under performing player and make £400k in the process.

Oi Bongo, you only got him for that because my bank manager's a tight get and wouldn't let me go past 149k!!! He'd have cost you 300k + 3 bids otherwise, grrrr. He looks a prospect does your boy Maurice, I think he's only a mid comp tho' bowler but nice fielding and stamina ratings for a trainee I seem to remember. Best of luck with him.

I saw you bidding earlier, but noticed you had stopped - was going to PM you otherwise so we didn't up the bid unnecessarily.

Stats are:
Stamina: respectable    Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: worthless         Concentration: worthless
Bowling: competent       Consistency: mediocre
Fielding: competent

It's hard to tell where his bowling is - he could be anywhere from very low competent to about 85% to respectable, depending on how far he is through the other skills.

Cracking trainee tho', those destructive fast bowlers are not easy to find on the market at all. At the mid-point for stam and fielding, and max for consistency I have him at 6.48 bowling.

At max for all three he is at 5.94 and at min for stam and field he's at 6.76 or approx 75% to Respectable, which is what I'd call a mid-comp.

Mind you,I've adapted Scuffer's sheet after I got one or two results that were simply not possible. I have stam and field/4 and con and cons at /5. Seems more accurate in predicting pops.

Fast bowlers are hard enough to find!

I'd be happy with any of the outcomes - whichever is higher has to be trained less!

I'd be thinking due to his high battrick rating that his high wage isn't just due to his bowling being close to respectable, still I guess I will find out when he starts popping!

I brought in a new bowler this week (Berry) to strengthen my opening bolwing attack and to try and get a bit of consistency out of my wicket taking but expensive regular opening bowler. Seems to have worked, after getting both openers out i've never seen so many dot balls!! Cheesy

8.3 . Berry to Daltrey
Incredible ball by Berry. A harsh change of pace, as he bowls a deadly accurate slower ball yorker. Daltrey just kept it out that time!!!
8.2 . Berry to Daltrey
Berry is steaming in like an express train. He seems to be annoyed about something.
8.1 . Berry to Daltrey
No run, drives firmly but can only find cover.

End of Over 8: 26-2, runrate=3.25
St. hubbins 4-1-11-1
Daltrey* 15 (20 balls)
Donovan 3 (18 balls)

Last Wicket: Hassall c. Hagan b. Berry 5 (FOW: 13/2)

7.6 1 St. hubbins to Daltrey
Driven to mid off for a quick single.
7.5 1 St. hubbins to Donovan
    Donovan takes a quick single.
7.4 . St. hubbins to Donovan
Powerful cover drive by Donovan is magnificently fielded by Hicks. Four runs saved there.
7.3 . St. hubbins to Donovan
Shortish ball just outside off stump. Quietly defended down into the covers.
7.2 . St. hubbins to Donovan
That's tight bowling from St. hubbins - you don't need express pace when you're that accurate.
7.1 . St. hubbins to Donovan
Loose ball, short and wide outside the off stump. Donovan should have cashed in but he tried to hit it too hard and mis-timed it to point.

End of Over 7: 24-2, runrate=3.43
Berry 4-1-15-1
Donovan* 2 (13 balls)
Daltrey 14 (19 balls)

Last Wicket: Hassall c. Hagan b. Berry 5 (FOW: 13/2)

6.6 . Berry to Daltrey
Good length ball, played firmly to mid off.
6.5 . Berry to Daltrey
    Safely through to Tau.
6.4 . Berry to Daltrey
Daltrey has no problem ducking under a high bouncer.
6.3 . Berry to Daltrey
    Watchfully defended, no run.
6.2 . Berry to Daltrey
Advanced, smacked straight to the mid wicket fielder.
6.1 . Berry to Daltrey
Great piece of bowling there by Berry. He made the batsman look very ordinary indeed.

End of Over 6: 24-2, runrate=4.00
St. hubbins 3-1-9-1
Daltrey* 14 (13 balls)
Donovan 2 (13 balls)

Last Wicket: Hassall c. Hagan b. Berry 5 (FOW: 13/2)

5.6 . St. hubbins to Donovan
Donovan has lifted that one back over the bowler's head, fielded at long on.
5.5 1 St. hubbins to Daltrey
Watches it onto the bat and runs it to third man.
5.4 1 St. hubbins to Donovan
Almost run out! They really shouldn't have run that single.
5.3 . St. hubbins to Donovan
Angled in, managed to defend to the off.
5.2 . St. hubbins to Donovan
Good line and length by St. hubbins. Donovan deliberately plays inside the line and allows the ball to sail through to Tau
5.1 . St. hubbins to Donovan
St. hubbins comes in to Donovan. Nothing there.

End of Over 5: 22-2, runrate=4.40
Berry 3-0-15-1
Donovan* 1 (8 balls)
Daltrey 13 (12 balls)

Last Wicket: Hassall c. Hagan b. Berry 5 (FOW: 13/2)

4.6 . Berry to Daltrey
Pitched up, Daltrey mistimes the drive to the mid off region, no run taken.
4.5 1 Berry to Donovan
Good length, drifting into Donovan who just gets the bat down in time, squirts out on the on side and they scamper through.
4.4 . Berry to Donovan
Gently played out to the mid wicket region.
4.3 . Berry to Donovan
Good, shortish lifting ball off the deck. Some width outside off stump to tempt the slashing cut and Donovan duly obliges, playing and missing through to Tau.
4.2 . Berry to Donovan
    Good fielding at mid on.
4.1 1 Berry to Daltrey
Full delivery outside leg, almost yorker length and it's worked away to fine leg for a single.

End of Over 4: 20-2, runrate=5.00
St. hubbins 2-1-7-1
Daltrey* 12 (10 balls)
Donovan 0 (4 balls)

Last Wicket: Hassall c. Hagan b. Berry 5 (FOW: 13/2)

3.6 . St. hubbins to Donovan
Solid defensive stroke from Donovan, bat and pad together to make an impenetrable barrier. The ball rolls back up to St. hubbins who flicks it into his hands off his boot.
3.5 . St. hubbins to Donovan
Gently played back down the pitch.
3.4 . St. hubbins to Donovan
Shortish ball seaming back in. Looks to work it off the body but it's hurried onto the pad. Ball drops down in close on the off side as Donovan overbalances a little.

6 runs in 30 balls is unheard of from a monkey bowling attack!!
