I can only echo what everyone else has said. A tough thread to read.

Life can be so cruel.

Maureen said this......

.....another child has to pass away on a life support machine for the organs to be donated......

What sort of moral dilemma is that? Praying for one's Son/Grandson to get a transplant, & thus survive, but another youngster has to die to enable the transplant. It's hard to know what to think. It's all too sad for words.

We are here for you all the way Maureen, & Stacey.

That's a very interesting moral question that you have highlighted there, tikay. Food for thought.

Maureen is painfully aware of the awful dilemma. What can one do?

I first saw this thread earlier with my 2 year old sat on my lap....just couldn't think of words to say then.
Still can't....but I double checked my donor card was still in my wallet.

Good point.

I read all the heartfelt good wishes and thought I dont know what to say but add to the list.

Zebs post has reminded me that although I once used to carry a donor card it got lost over the years so I will make a point of getting a new 1.

Maureen, it was probably not your intention but before I heard about your lovely grandson I was quite happy to have a donor card but thought...they can take my bits but no one is cutting up my kids if anything happens to them.

I pray to god they grow up safe and strong but you have now put seeds of thoughts in my mind...I hope I would be strong enough after hearing about Reece and his struggle for life to sign that form.

it must be very hard to even talk about you grandson,to people you dont even know, but you know that in your heart the people who you are talking to over this site are all genuine, in wishing good luck and  hopefull thoughts at this very hard time.
it must be nice for you and your familly to know that if there is anything you want to share, our get of your chest, that you feel you couldnt face to face with someone is that you can come on here and pm ANYONE.

we all hope and pray that this little boy gets what is needed to make him have a good life.it must be very hard for you and your daughter at this time,im not a doctor or a surgeon but if you ever want to let it out you know you can pm me anytime and i will try to help in anyway.....regards james
