Now then people, i just thought i would ask a bit of advice as what's the best procedure to deal with abusive and probably quite good players. Basically i have been hammering the freeroles since really startin to play poker, and although i have come close to finishing 1st a few times, my best position was last night, when i was 73rd out of 6000+ people, which is quite respectable i think. Anyway, i called some fella on a 1200 chip deal, and all i had was a 5 7 suited, but i had 90,000+ chips, so i could afford to gamble a bit, flop came out to give me a 6 8 9 suited, so i had straight flush right, then an ace popped up from the turn, and an ace from the river, he went all in, i called his 60,000 bet, and he got all abusive saying stiff like, your a tw** for betting with a 57, etc etc, so all i said was, and i quote " m8, if all hands were rulebook and textbook played, no one would win through skill, as everyone would play only good cards," he replied " that wernt skill, it was F***ing stupid, and i like to tell players how stupid they are when they cannot play. So naturally i said summit like, give it up m8, bad beats happen, gg tho, to which he said F**k off, so i emailed the site to report his mannerisms,.
Mypoint is, did i do the right thing?

Exactly the right course of action if you don't have their address.  Grin

everyone should be quicker to report and try not to argue back. support where ever you are will be more sympathetic if you've not fanned the flames at all.

The main point is that you appear to have played the hand perfectly.  Calling with this type of hand when you and your opponent have a lot of chips is textbook, particularly when your opponent is stupid enough to lob in all his chips when they will only get called by a better hand.  Unfortunately, there are many internet players who believe that they only lose because they are besieged by "muppets" and can't accept that there are many different ways to play poker.  When they lose their chips they instantly attack the winner instead of examining their own play and taking satisfaction if it was correct and learning a lesson if it wasn't.

On the converse side, if you do make a mistake and get lucky, I don't think it does any harm to acknowledge this. (But don't say "sorry" - my pet hate....)

I think (which is rare) you did the best thing.  I heard the best advise is go to there local Casino and give them a smack and say nothing.

The most abusive player I know  is Fugu on VC he is shocking it would be nice if he came to Notts to show him around the place share
a  beer and introduce  him to the local fish(at the bottom of the Trent)

Only Joking I know it's wrong to dump S*** in a river

Regards

LOL he is a friend of mine, and is fecking hilarious. He is a really nice friendly guy, a joy to play with in a casino.

His actions as 'FuGu' are all designed to wind people up. Make no mistake it works.
