Its on again tonight (I think), but it's Lamb on the menu tonight.

I though it was compulsive viewing. You want to turn away, but you can't because it's too interesting.

A really good point is made by this show. It gets people to connect with where their food is coming from, from slaughter right through to eating it.

Did this show put any one off eating meat?

No it didnt put me off, i have seen this on a farm. A lamb being slaughtered and butchered. We do about 3 lambs a year to put in freezer and i tell you what the meat has so much more flavour than supermarket stuff so i bet that fillet steak they had last night was beautiful!

EDIT- trouble is it clashes with will hill grand prix tonight!

Do you live on a farm KP?

One day I hope to get a small holding and would like some pigs and a few lambs, Id be sending some off to slaughter every now and then.

Interesting tonight, wasn't overly keen on watching the throat being cut, but then I'm never going to do it myself.

My great uncle had a 250 acre farm but he passed away last may and basically the family has decided to keep the farm running for sentimental vreasons. The farm will never be sold so i hope to move into the farmhouse at some point next year. Definately cant afford to at the mo.
You don't like to see the animals being killed but at the end of the day you know they have had a great life up to that point- better than a lot of humans on this planet anyway!

The living conditions and treatment of factory farmed animals is appalling and should definitely be exposed.  Although what you see will not include the more severe cruelty.  If only enough people would make a stand and demand better living conditions for the animals they eat, in exchange for paying a little more.  The meat industry would be forced to meet consumer demands and the standard of meat would be better, as well as a better quality of life for the animals…   It breaks my heart…
