registered today.. like it. will for sure come back when I move back to Germany form the US. good to see that the Europeans are getting better and better. here the US kids think they are wordlchampions....

I'm guessing a fair few will come over for the Monte Carlo Grand Final, it should be interesting to see how they fare against each other.

Paul Gourlay is up to 40k. He showed down Aces on a three clubs two hearts board and his opponent mucked and the 18k pot got shipped his way.

Elsewhere Thang Duc Nguyen is going very smoothly, on 45k as we speak. Somone to keep an eye on...

13,000 and possibly a little fatigued.  It sounded from his travel description like it was Goa (lovely), travel here (lengthy), get changed (quick), play straight away (lengthy).

Also still in:

Birgitta Johanssen   8,000
Antoine Boudat      8,200
Juha Helppi            20,000
Roland de Wolfe     36,800
Mickey Wernick       19,000  (more, actually, after whatever just happened happened)
Jonas Molander       15,500
Sverre Sundbo        15,000
Womble                 17,700
Nicolas Levi             12,900

I loved Monte Carlo last year, YOYO was my team manager and WE almost made a great comback. I would recommend that comp to anyone!!!!!!!

I was told I even made the TV final cut w/ the 1 and only hand that I played at the TV table, have not watched it myself yet.

MR Goodwin needs a good old 7/4 to get him going

Katja Thater has just come into the pressroom, so I'm guessing she is OUT.

Incidentally, if you had been wondering what Ben Grundy had when the dealer had the clock on him, he was holding pocket Kings, he'd flatcalled a raise (or re-raise,) hoping to trap the original limper (or raiser). But he's managed to grind up from 6k he was on up to 13,600 at present time.

OK, that Mickey Wernick double up.

LAG in seat 4 raises to 1,700. Mickey flat calls with

Flop

  two spades

LAG bets 3,000. Mickey raises 5,000. LAG goes all in.

LAG has  !!!

Turn is  River is

LAG shrugs his shoulders.

Mickey is on around 40,000 now.

So who's out?  Stu Rutter, in unfortunate circumstances -

He ran two pair into sets twice to knock him down to 7,000, then found under the gun.  He raised.  Small blind Jan Heitmann decided now was the time to push for his slightly shorter stack, with .  The suits have been approximated.
The board came:  spade spade othersuit-rag ...(you must know what's coming next) spade - to fourflush Stuart out of the tournament, pretty much.  Jan said he'd buy him a drink.

I saw him in the restaurant area and he was implausibly chirpy.  "Am I meant to look disconsolate?" he said, beaming.

Also sitting railside is Cincinnati Sid, whose comeback lasted well into level six, it looks like.

I can't find Roy Brindley either, but that one's not conclusive.
