Ok, just had a call from a friend who was playing on Full tilt poker. now to cut a long conversation short a royal flush (diamonds) appeared on the board, ok, my mate goes all in thinking its a split pot, the remaining player goes all in as well, showdown, my friend AK spades other guy 89 of diamonds. The caller with 89 of diamonds wins the pot!! how can this be??? I have never heard of anything like this before. I have told him to email them asking for an explaination. He also did a screen save as well so i have seen the showdown. Is it me? have I missed something glaringly obvious??

JS

Hmm from your screenshot your friend had K6o and not AK of spades, the other guy has 89o and not 89 of diamonds and it also shows the pot was split confirmed by the chat box saying "pipedown (big blind) showed [ ] and won (1,065) with a Royal Flush".  So I really don't see what you're on about?  They didn't have the hands you stated and they did split it anyway...     ?!  Unless I've missed something?

I reckon that every person who tells a Bad beat story on this forum should have to donate 50p to Poker4Charity.

Maybe Ironside (where has he gone?) can add a paypal donation link to the forum and add another catergory "Bad beat stories" exclusively for bad beats.

I really like that idea. Considering this started out as a bad-beat free forum, I ain't half read a lot of bad beat stories recently.

I think many would quite happily cough up in order to tell us about their outdraw.  Cheesy

errrr there appears to be 3 players in the pot, but only 2 of them are showing as winners.  Isn't this the point being made?

Now that is a first class idea.

This should definitely be made a rule of this forum.

I am not sure it is a good idea. Ok there will be times when it will be a "pure bad beat can I cry on your shoulder" type post, if  it is the subject line should include a hint along the lines of "I am a whinger and this just happened"   Wink

Sometimes we learn when hand histories are posted as they can be discussed and the play considered, quite good for the karma to chuck in some constructive criticism as well.

Also if we had a fine system people will feel restricted and, in any event, who's going to police the payment.

How about a league?

Posted bad beat without whinge warning - 2 points

Posting bad beat with warning - 1 point

Post obvious bad beat but denies it is such - 3 points

All for a bit of a fun and we can have a winger of the month declaration, not a prize  Grin

The problem with offering "prizes or points" for Bad Beat's, is that anybody can tell a bad beat story (Ironside would be writing them all day!).

With my idea, it's only 50p and anyone can donate, they dont have to but i feel a lot of people would as it is for a very good cause.
