If someone is endangering the life of themselves and others, then you have to do something about it.

If they're driving drunk, take their keys off them (I've done that in the past and nearly got into a fight about it - but was thanked the next day by the fella involved).  Could you live with yourself if they killed someone?

What do you mean by dangerous driving?  Is someone driving ridiculously fast when the roads/conditions are dangerous?

If they're a friend or a family member you can have a word with them.

Keep the stormtroopers out of it.

What if they were clearly dangerous and a threat to other road users?

I know a DD who I decided about 6 months ago never to get in a car with again.  It was raining heavily earlier and I foolishly accepted a lift with this DD. We were approaching a busy roundabout and my DD didn't even look before pulling out, there was a car coming round and we hit it. If I hadn't shouted "FFS there is a car coming" it would have been far worse and both us and the other car would have been mince. By me shouting to look out, the DD lifted slightly on the accelerator and we clipped the back of the other car instead of hitting it full on in the passenger side door.

The DD in question is known as the 'Stock Car driver' by my friends and I.

I have had a word a few times and so have others.  However, the DD becomes annoyed and blames someone else.  Earlier after we had hit the other car, I was a bit annoyed as it is rather unpleasant when your life is endangered.  I said to the DD that they were crazy for not even looking to see if anyone was coming, I got an angry and surprising response from the DD as they clearly blamed the other car for going too fast round the roundabout.

If you can, yes - give him a good hiding.  But if you can't?

I understand what your saying and  particularly deplore people driving whilst intoxicated.

If i was aware of a friend or family member driving thus and had the oppoutunity to dissuade them from doing so i would of course do everything in my power, though if i was in possesion of this information without the chance to intervene theres just no way in a million years i'd report them.
