There may be an innocent explanation in that they want to increase traffic on their blog so people read future entries. There's nothing worse than writing a blog that you think no one is reading.
i agree, but why are they trying to spam their blog onto people that probably aren't intersted in reading it? on this forum you almost never heard of blog links, but nowadays a hell of a lot of post are accompanied with the golden "see my blog for details" tag. If they are gonna spam this site with their blogs, i want to know why they cant just paste the content on here as well as the link. Its intersting.
the mods often remove posts with links to blogs on them due to the affliate links on them
but somedays we are too busy with the spam and the spammers

definitely less of them, they clog up the forum. More posts complaining about them, that's what I'm after.

Don't forget the positives of linking a blog. Some people may have only stumbled across some excellent blogs through their links on blonde.

great.. dont make numerous posts about a blog entry or two, and if you are going to spam your links, at least put the content up on the website.

The issue of Links to Blogs - non-affiliate type blogs - is fine. But when the link is to a blog with Affiliate Links, it's something that is execising the minds of the Mods almost non-stop. Generally, we don't allow, but it's not that simple an issue to resolve fairly, for all manner of complicated reasons.
We are on the case though. Bear with us please.

On a kinda same issue I find it funny/attention seeking/a bit I am when I find a link and click onto it to find some well, pretty mundane stuff about how they are going to try to win this/goals/ Im finding this game easy lalala or a hand history that just features a bad beat.
The one thing that does make me laugh is a) The updates are always there when they are having a winning time b) the hand histories/biggest pot I have ever won type thread also appear when its going well but when its going bad it takes 4 weeks to get an update and its the c) Poker is sick, having the worst of runs/feel bad, with no real detail to them.
Now I suppose some blogs are self improvement tools aswell as life diaries but I don't think poker blogs are meant to be like that. In essence I think most bloggers use their sites to brag about winning when they win/feel like it. There are some really good blogs out there and they stand head and shoulders above the kinda Billy from Halifax plays 1/2 stuff.(ps if Billy from Halifax is real I apologise)

For what it's worth and i have said it before, the reason i believe blonde works so well is the diversity of the forum.
You have people here from all walks of life but with the same common interest, that being poker, i believe that it's good that you have everything from low limit to high stakes players able to interact with each other on ALL subjects, and that it all is done with decency, humour and consideration for the community here.
As for people pasting links to blogs and other stuff (that is allowed) i personally dont have a problem with it as its the readers choice as to whether they open the link or not. I for one have been very grateful for some of the links, eg download sites etc, and i have read a few blogs that i probably would never have had they not been posted here, some very good.
At the end of the day it's down to choice, people are alowed to post their blog links here so they do, it's up to us whether we read them. I tend to open the original post of all threads, then if it is something that does not interest me i dont return to it, i expect others do the same but i certainly dont have a problem with anybody posting anything so long as its acceptable by the site.
Just my thoughts.
