You are playing on pokerstars, you make a nut straight on the turn.

You make a small bet and an aggressive opponent raises.

Do you think it is an acceptable tactic to use some of your time balance before you call or raise... or is it a moody?

Isn't that what the time bank is for, to use when you see fit ?

Apart from anything else, you have a decision to make.

Some guy just turned the chat box blue when I used this tactic on him... really surprised me.

Then I came to thinking...was I being moody? I remember the Vic used to have a rule, if you thought about a decison for more than 15 seconds (it might have been 30 seconds) you couldn't raise.

I used to think that was a terrible rule, but it follows the same principle.

yeah, its the trumper effect. You dont wanna be doing this with nut hands on the river, its perfect to do it with bluffs though. On the turn its a different story.
