In my guise as a magazine reporter i've caught a few hands whilst Snoopy and Jen have been busy typing up in the press room. The two of note being:

1) Jelinek limps from the SB, Forsman checks his option. Flop - 2-5-8. Jelinek bets 8k and Forsman folds. Jelinek tables Kings saying, "You're the most aggressive player i've ever seen!"
Forsman tables 7-2o and says, "Not with that i'm not."

2) I join the action at the flop of -3s-Kd
The money in the pot indicates that Steve Slavin raised to 20k from the cut-off and was called by Simon Zach in the BB. Zach checks and Slavin pushes in his remaining 45k.
Zach starts the investigation firing question after question - will you show if i pass, I know you're not making a move - you have a hand.  He eventually folds and is shown -10d by Slavin. Crys of, "I knew it." from Zach.

I read a post somewhere that said Sofa King had gone broke and wont be playing poker no more is that true ?

No, not broke, he's just quitting Poker to sell Shades. A huge loss to blonde, & the other cash-game players in Cardiff. Men built empires on playing cash with Sofa, God bless him.

Take a look at Page 3 of this thread, & you'll laugh yourself silly at Sofa's picture!

Here's the hat, with Smith underneath it, and Simon Zach (a good tip for a top finish, too, I reckon).

Law Royce is OUT, running Jacks into Simon Zach's Aces.

He shouted "Jack" on every street as if commanding the poker gods to deliver him one of his two outs, but his demands fell on stoney ground as the board came an unrewarding .

Stuart Menzies grabs me on way back to tell me his tale and woe, and although he said, "I apologise, I bet you loads of these bad beat stories", I think it was fair to give him the benefit of the doubt this time, as anyone would want to get this one of their chest.

Battle of the blinds, Steve Craig in the small and Stuart in the big.

The action folded round to Steve who raised it up to 15k from, only for Stuart to move all-in from the big blind with K-T for another 70k.

Now, at this point, you'd predict a fold from Craig, but not this fella, he either has balls of steel or a brain of rubber, as he decided to make the call and reveal a very eye opening K-8.

6-7-9-3-5 board and we lose Stuart in the most gut wrenching of circumstances.

Are they paying Texas Hold 'Em. How DO these guys make these calls?
