I think the call is a no-brainer to be honest.   You're ahead of his range with a massive chip lead, if you lose you still have a massive chip lead.  He probably pushes most hands here.

doubleup - If you're ahead of his range its a mistake to fold.

a) he is never a big dog vs your hand, you are a big dog against a lot of his hands

b) If he wins he has a playable stack rather than being a pushbot, if you pass he is still a pushbot.

This is certainly interesting topic.

I insta called, taking my shot to "wrap" it up with my Ace, knowing that I would still have a commanding chip lead if I lost.

For the person who asked, he had K Q and hit two Q's on the flop.

Yes it went wrong from then on, he hit everything. Fair play to the guy. It was a great heads up battle.

If you see his cards (KQ) do you call?

It was actually a serious question, I imagine the %age favourite you are with A2 over KQ is similar to the %age favourite you'd be over a realistic hand range for him.

Seems like you're keen on waiting for a situation where you definitely have him dominated.  How long before this happens?  How many chips will he have by then?  Probably more than the 5K he'll have if you double him up here!

How do you know what his range is?  If his range is any 2 broadway, any pair, any ace you don't have a call and you're 3-1 on to steal his blind next hand.

How am I waiting to have him dominated when I'm happy to push with any two next hand?

At the end of the day heads up is all about aggression isn't it?

If you had backed down on that, with an 8/1 chip lead, your chiplead diminishes. He gets his confidence up and keeps pushing. Meanwhile, your chip lead keeps decreasing and you get jittery even with bigger hands than the A2. His tail is up and he starts pushing u around. You had to make the stand and it was a perfectly good call IMO. Just a little unlucky afterwards...

If you fold and push on the next hand - that's hardly passive.

Yes.

Yes.

You could just keep doing that all day, each push from the button, 6hrs later you will still have to call 1 of them eventually.

You'll win as the blinds go up and he'll eventually be blinded away...
