Casey Kastle has doubled up off early pace setter Xuyen Pham, the semi-Vladar raising from the button with K-9, only for Kastle in the small blind to call with A-9 and double up on a 9-9-3 Flop.

Bad Girl down to 17k.

Blinds are still 50 and 100.

Whilst I was checking the board, I noticed a certain Mr Azad Pirooti in the corner of my eye. A quick glance down and I learned of his 8,400 stack.

Is he a good egg too, hartwith?

John Gale is down to just 7k. I was reliably informed that he ran into Big Slick which ultimately became big full house when 2 kings and 1 Ace hit the board.

Here's Vicky Coren, level one, when the empty seat's chips next to her could so easily be caught in shot to make it look like she'd doubled up (her crafty idea, not mine)... sadly, I'd already taken this fetching photo.  On last pass by, it appeared she may have been doing a crossword at the table...

Two poker titans do battle in Phil Ivey and snoopy Patrik Antonius. According to Jeff Kimber and Tim Blake, Phil called a 700 bet from Antonius on an Flop before giving him one hell of a staredown (an Iveydown, perhaps?) on the Turn when the online whiz bets another 1,400.

"Even I was touching cloth," commented Tim Blake on the Iveydown.

Anyhow, Ivey called, but folded to a 4.5k bet on the River, thus leaving him with around 11k.

Hachem Busts With Aces News Now:

One opponent on a Q-Q-2 rainbow flop... Joe bet 1,500, Matey raised to 4,000, Joe re-raises to 8,000, Matey moves in - Call.  Matey's A-Q was plenty good, and stayed that way...so we're one WSOP champ down in Level Two...

The players have just this second gone on a short 15 minute break. When they return, we'll be on Level 3, and at that point I'll obtain a more thorough chip count.

For now, check out this table, which contains a few names that will be familiar to us Brits:

Paul Alterman -- 9,875
Peter Gould -- 14,750
John Gale -- 12,275
Jim Reid -- 22,275
Andy Black -- 10,725

I know some of these names have been requested previously:

Nick Slade -- 32,450
Roy Brindley -- 7,100
Keith Hawkins -- 16,850
Jeff Williams -- 16,850
Aranud Mattern -- 17,500
Phil Hellmuth -- 7,875

Nick Slade did have a few more, but he was unfortunate on a two spades board, hitting his flush with but running into J-7. Luckily, his opponent made an unnecessarily big bet on the River allowing Nick to escape. "If he'd bet 4k, I would have called," he added.
