as a Man City fan I actually wanted Man U to go through...

just so Gary Neville could score an OG in the last minute Smiley

A fellow City fan, get in!!

Eastlands awaits this Saturday and we have even "rested" Joey for them.

Indeed.. suppose we want to give them a chance...

And I get to spend a JOYOUS day at work as 1 of 2 managers.. the other being my boss AND a Man U fan

should be an entertaining day

Following the GMTV scandal, Man United are suing UEFA for allowing them to enter a competition they had no chance of winning...

oooops

good luck to Liverpool in the final...

at least AdamM wont be dragging up all the Man U threads like the Baron did Wink

I wouldn't do that

very disappointing. Completely outplayed.

We'll have to settle for the double.

also always disappointed by people not supporting English teams abroad. I want to see Liverpool beat Milan and so should any English football fan.

I've genuinely never understood this logic.

The whole reason that football is the biggest most passionate game in the world is down to rivalry. When you take that away you have nothing just a boring game with 22 guys running around on a pitch.

Obviously Man City Fans & Liverpool fans want Man Utd to get pumped. Why does that surprise or dissappoint aynone?

It doesn't suprise me.

I dont mind rivalry but when language turns to words like hate and scum I don't like it. It certainly doesn't belong on blonde

personally I think I have more in common with a Liverpool fan than an AC Milan fan and so I'll be supporting the premiership team in the final.

You also should have more against a liverpool fan, than an AC fan.

I don't really want to get into it. I have no hate in me, at least not football related. I have nothing 'against' people I haven't met. I don't like the tribal nature of football or society in general and wish people could evolve past it.

I'm also perfectly realistic, in that, I realise I hold a minority view on this.

i dont know Adam M at all but i am guessing he is more of an armchair Man Utd supporter than an avid fan who has stood on the terraces and followed man utd up and down the country.

I think this is why there is a difference of opinion here.

I am a normal guy, never into any football violence etc but i intensely dislike both Chelsea and Spurs to the point that on tuesday my heart was racing in the penalties and i was so nervous cheering liverpool on.  Similarly the Seville game against Spurs was equally nerve-wracking for me.

I enjoy their failure both home and away and i would expect any TRUE AVID Spurs or Chelsea fan to enjoy Arsenal failings.

It is part of what makes this such a great game and without rivalry the game would lack so much passion both on and off the pitch.

As for the final - i do not dislike liverpool that much so will be happy if they win.

As a passionate Liverpool fan, my favourite team is obviously Liverpool - followed by ABU - anyone but united.  This passion has also grown to include an extreme dislike to chelsea.  My current dilemma is trying to decide who I'd prefer to win the league (or least not mind winning it).  Although I detest maureen's attitude and general being, my dislike of manure is stronger.  So I was disappointed with last weekend's results (even though I had to laugh at everton) - but thought Wednesday night was hilarious!

In Europe, I want any British club to do well - except for manure or chelsea.  Aresenal, Spurs, Celtic, even Bolton - I want them to win.  I wanted Arsenal to win the CL last year, and wanted Spurs to do well in the UEFA Cup this year.

I love the banter between rival fans - but not the violence that idiots on both sides resort to under the banner of their clubs.  That's bollocks as far as I'm concerned.

I'm a big rugby league fan, and tomorrow is rugby league's biggest match - Wigan v saint helens (Leed and Bradford fans might disagree, but they'd be wrong of course).  The 'hatred' between the two towns is enormous (only 8 miles between the two as well), and the only bigger pleasure in rugby that Wigan winning, is stains losing.  But I've spent many a great night drinking with stains fans after a match with plenty of good-humoured banter.  It's a shame football can't match this most of the time.

Anyway, come the 23rd, I hope LeKnave is cheering Milan on, and I hope I can laugh at him at the end when we lift our 6th European Cup and 'Big Ears' is back home where it belongs - at Anfield.
