Is it me or has Tighty been forgotten - surely not possible? Thanks Tighty for the organising you did even though your   80-1 ranking of me was innacurate.

You'd think he would have known you can only play aces and kings really...

What a fantastic weekend:

Thanks to all the mods for making it happen. Knowing how much effort you all put into this and seeing the stress some of you went through last night I take my hat off to you   (If you need a hand in the planning of BB5, I would be more than happy to help)

Special thanks to Ironside for being perfect company all weekend and introducing nicky and I to virtually everyone in Luton........ Next time dinner's on me thumbs up

My list of thank yous is endless, so i'll stop now for fear of insulting anyone by exclusion.

Tank you Blonde

Nice to met you Delboy, I really enjoyed that sit n go we played in. All the best to you and the good lady.

ps, im still wilfing....

My suggested retort would have been "that's 2 more hands than you", but still I think we should just compromise and blame it all on tikay

Yep just as has already been said, it was a fantastic weekend and met some great people! Very well organised too.

Only downside to the whole weekend was just missing seeing the one and only Liberty X at Chicago's!! Gutted of course.  Cry

One over thing:

Being a Blondite at the Bashes gives me a feeling community, warmth and freindship, on a par with nothing else i have ever been involved in, and I'd like to thank the man who caused it all......TIKAY,

Nice of you to sugggest as such, but it would be wrong to accept the compliment personally. blonde owes it's existence to many folks - the shareholders, the Mods, the Staff, our Sponsors, & the Members. On behalf of them all, thank you. It's lovely to read all these Posts from folks who enjoyed themselves.

If I may make so bold, these Bashes are very expensive for us to run, and we never charge anyone a penny, happily, & we hope it will always be the case.

But if you guys can try & play on our Cardroom as much as possible, it would really help us to keep things going - after all, it's the Cardroom money that finances the Bashes.

Thanks, & heres to bB5 - the Venue will do well to match Luton, where the Staff really entered into the blonde spirit.

Good point Tracey...thanks Tighty for all the hard work but where did you GO? I saw you when I reged for the comp then you disappeared!!!

It never actually occured to me that a Blonde Bash would be expensive to run.

I know im being a bit cheeky here in asking but im curious. Do you have to hire the cardroom out for the night? Im pretty sure that most if not all would be happy to pay the normal charges/rake if that could be avoided. The hot meal buffet was excellent at BB4 which was completely free of charge...did Blonde foot the bill for this? If so then I and im sure many others would have been more than happy to have dropped a couple of quid in a bucket at the end of the table.

Blonde Bashes are fun and a chance to meet other forum members with the bonus of playing against pro/very good players for a mere £30...it should not be costing Blonde anything!!!

Am I wrong?

Not a cheeky question at all Suzanne!

But yes, they do cost us money. I am not sure of the exact figures, I don't have them to hand, but I think the Buffet cost us about £700, the trophies (Silo Graham does us a cheap deal, thank you Graham!) a few hundred quid, & a few other bits & bobs that came to around £600 I think, probably a total of about £1,500 to £2,000. It's money well spent, too, if we all have a ball, & we don't begrudge a penny. But it does help if folks play blonde as much as they reasonably can, because thats where the money comes from.

Well Suz my back was giving me a lot of trouble. I only live a 15 minute drive away so off home I went for a hot bath at about 11pm intending to return. Sadly I then seized up and that was that!

cost wise, if you add in the buffet which blonde paid for, trophies etc and other costs then yes it adds up..comfortably into four figures. The card-room is though free of charge but then again the casino does have a very profitably weekend in bar takings!!

In Walsall everyone was given a meal menu at £3.90 a head but so many people ordered away from that menu at full price that we thought a better deal for players was to get free registration for the comp and we'd pay the buffet.

So yes, we can only run bb5 and bb6 if people play on the cardroom and help us cover our costs, as tikay says.
