Pictured: Paul Testud winning a pot - and hiding behind his hand is this monstrosity - I was counting chips and suddenly this made a noise like:  "Weeee, oink, ahahahaHAHAHAHA eeeeEEE oinkoink," for a good minute or so.  I am pretty sure it was coming from his pig as he had a slightly sheepish grin (Paul Testud, not the pig)...I pity his table.

WE HAVE ACTION!!!

and it's a...

in fact it's a really really...

I join the action with around 50-60k already in the pot, Jeff pushing in around 30k (covering his opponent, PP Ruscalla) and the board reading...

three diamonds

Ruscalla calls and Jeff asks, in that familiarly confident manner, "So, have you got Jacks or Queens?"

"Tens," replies Roscalla.

Slightly concerned, Jeff reveals , but breathes a big sigh of relief when he sees that he has his opponent drawing dead to two cards with a surprisingly vulnerable and perhaps not biggest-pot-of-the-night inducing .

River =

Ruscalla gone, Lisandro new chip leader with circa 160k.

Paul Gorlay texted to tell me he's card dead, tell him to pop a lens out. That'll throw them off their game.

"Just one double up, snoop, just one double up," prays the Tiny Dancer.

Here's Jason Lee (24,575) in chips selected his favourite Ricky Martin song off the ipod. I had a quick check before too and I have to confess on his behalf that he appears to be a big Right Said Fred fan too. Well, each to their own I guess.

This, I believe (and hope  dont river me) is American player Jeff Wallace, recently seen limp folding for 800 to his next door neighbour's 3.2k pre-flop bet, leaving him with just 14,700 in chips.

This is the best picture I could obtain I'm afraid due to him facing the wall, the attractive and very alluring dealer kept getting in the way of my picture. God damn her!

Players are currently on a short 15 minute break.

In fact, I was admiring the dealer norkage for so long, that their heading back now...

Dave Colclough is at 75k during this break, after what he calls some "French hospitality..."  Despite seeing no big pairs this comp, and only one lone A-K today, he's built up from about 15k to his present stack playing a lot of mediocre starting hands from the wonderful big blind.  Here's a breakdown:

1)  After there's one limper - Georges Teboul - he sees a J-8-4 (one diamond) flop in the big blind, holding .  He checks, Teboul bets 2.5k, he raises to 6k.  Call.
Turn:    DC moves in for 16.5k (the diamond giving his confidence in his hand a boost).  He gets a dwell-call (leading him to pessimistically suspect J-K or some such hand) but it turns out he was doubled through by an optimistic 8-9.

2)  In the bb again with it was 2,600 to go with one caller, DC goes for it, "for the value."
Flop: -9c-4c check-check-check
The turn pairs the four - the bringing the double flush draw.  David Redlin bets 4k, and gets called in the middle - now not so sure that his King is the best hand, he calls.
River: three clubs  "I'm now in check-call mode," says Dave, but it checks round, the King stood up.  "Easy pot."

3) In the bb with 4-4 Teboul raises, Dave smooth calls... 2-3-5 the flop. Dave checks, Teboul bets, Dave calls.
Turn  6  Dave bets 5k on his turned straight, and gets a speedy call.
River is a blank... DC leads out 6k, hoping his opponent has a pair...no, he gets not a penny more, being shown the perhaps unexpected A-Q...

Board =

Libson doubles through.

Nikolai Evdakov raises under the gun, Janne Lamsa calls, Adrien Gavile calls, Gilbert Chahine and Samir Shakhtoor calls from the big blind.

Flop =

Samir checks, Nikolai bets 3k, Janne folds, Adrien folds, Gilbert calls and Samir calls.

Turn =

Samir checks, Nikolai bets 6k, Gilbert folds and Samir folds.

A strange and rare five way pot, but Nikolai took down a nice pot nonetheless.

Karsten Johanssen is OUT - After a double limp, from Paul Testud under the gun and later position Freddy Deeb, Karsten Johanssen moved in on the small blind for perhaps 20k...Testud instacalled, which put Freddy off, if he'd been considering it.  "Showdown!" impatiently demands observer Johan Storakers, for no apparent reason (there must be some kind of tedious-dwell history on that table, for example).
Karsten shows:
Paul shows:

Flop:
Turn:
And he was already halfway out of the room as the irrelevant came down.
