Everyone seems to think the call is bad but why?
He knows you're short and are gonna do this with a very wide range especially as it's a sat and the bigger stacks are not gonna get involved without a hand.
Why wouldn't he think he is miles ahead??
because he's unlikely to be miles ahead and most likely faces a coinflip with the two blinds still to act behind him. he did not have anything invested in the pot and calling with nothing more than middle pair is not ideal in those situations where he can push and pick up the blinds with worse hands. I am not saying it's the worst call in the world as winning the hand would virtually guarantee you a seat but it's most likely to be an 11k coinflip which you don't yet need to take.
