It's been up before, we all agreed it is a bad idea to fold top set...

.....and an Oscar Nomination for my dear friend (in both senses of the word) Achilleas Kalakkis!
What a Fold by Denis, or, as Jesse called him, "Manny".

Why is it a bad fold? Anyone have the link to that thread?

Just saw the replay now. Thanks for posting it. The funny thing about the hand is that it was an automatic all in from me if Kallakis is not involved. As luck would have it I played in the Palm beach two weeks previous and Achilleas did a similar thing with a monster hand. I got a read on him that night and I needed him to talk to me to make sure I was right.
I did think about the the QQ hand but my feeling was that if I called then he would have folded. Had he moved all in after my raise and Achilleas called then I would have called. My thinking was that the QQ had some thirty thousand more chips than AA. I would be in a side pot for 60k that I knew I was winning and the main pot for another 45k. My up side would be 240k total and hopefully worst 60k. I started the hand with 90k. Hope this explains the situation. And fancy Jesse talking about my dress sense....cheeky git. Man at C&A ...if it still exists.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k. “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi. Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

That'd be the Denis who has just rung me from the Caribbean, where he's spending Chrissie at his place, to chirp that it's 85f there, & he's sat on the sun terrace of his villa, sipping ice cold rum & coke, & wanted me to say Merry Christmas to all the blondes.
I retorted with my Seasonal mood & told him to GF himself.
