Going to book my Vegas flight tonight. However, I get very bored very quickly and so need a good selection of films. Comfortable chairs wouldn't go amiss too!

Out of the following, which would you say is the best for long flights?

British Airlines
American Airlines
US Airways
Air Canada
United

I can't remember who I went with last year, but the films all sucked - I was left having to watch some shite called 'She's The Man'. Great!

I know little about which flights would be best.  But, She's the man is a great film!

Out of those I've only flown with British Airways, and been different every time.  Longest flight I did with them was direct to LA.  One film shown on the flight - no seat back TVs - one screen in the middle of the plane.  11 hour flight and got one meal, an ice cream and a couple of finger sandwiches - was famished by the time I landed.  On the plus side, the plane was pretty empty so I got four seats to myself to have a lie down.

Following year flew with them to Chicago and a lot better - choice of films, seat back TV etc.  Still not overly generous with the food though as I recall.

Might be worth checking out their websites to see what the in-flight service is like, or taking a look at somewhere like tripadvisor.

Well i just got back from vegas....and  guess what ... i slept all the way home .................after only paying (well mr nun) 362 for both of us ...so no inflight entertainment needed to excuse the extra cost of schedual flights (mytravel direct from Mamchester)..Butttt saying that .. we have flown AA a few times and find them comfortable and very good inflight entertainment if thats what ticks your box...

All pretty similar TBH. The American companies tend to be less liberal with the booze though.

I flew out with virgin, they go direct.

You get your own TV and can choose any of loads of great films. There was also a games system built into the arm of the chair. You pulled out the gamepad (which doubles as a phone if you want to make the most expensive call of your life) and you can choose to play chess against the computer or against someone else on the plane. There was blackjack to play and lots of other games but I don't remember which.

On the way back though we were on a different plane and no games system, still the good choice of films, more than I could watch - something to do with having been up the last 2 days straight at the tables.

Maybe there is a plane spotters website somewhere that will tell you which plane is kitted out with this gear. There was a special offer on the flights for us, we booked well in advance to get it, not sure what their normal pricing is like.

Air Canada was known for it's comfort and service, ask me again in a month and I'll give you a personal report lol.

Virgin aren't in that list are they  Train down to Gatwick is shorter than changing planes somewhere (just).

have a checkout of www.seatguru.com

American Airlines have the most legroom and biggest seats in economy. Just make sure they are flying the newer 777 on the route you want to take. They are still flying the old 767 on the GLA-ORD route and its not the best.

Of course you could try Northwest who seem to think that the DC-10 is the latest thing in air passenger transport.
