young and English. still a premium for English players because of CL and PL matchday quotas
I have no problem with the fee. Seems quite standard for 2017. The 6 year contract would suggest the scousers are still overpaying for questionable £ for £ talent compared to their so called rivals. Saying that they might get £150m for their main man so they might not care. I still can't believe they turned down the last offer way over £100m. This kid isn't the next Messi and the scousers are not going to be challenging for the top honours any time soon. Are they scarred from selling Torres for miles over the odds for £50m and blowing most of it on Carroll? Surely not? Just bank it this time and don't panic buy. I would rather he went to Chelsea, we already got too many midfielders and don't see who he replaces tbh. Barca bid for Coutinho was terrible. It was only £80m paid over 5 years. The rest was ridic add ons such as multiple champions league winners balon d'or winner etc Just waiting to see which of our cast offs Stoke want next

Crouch Allen Adam at the prices have been total bargains for Stoke in the last few years. You keep paying over the odds and we will mop up your donk offs and give you a bit back. #wedpntpretendtobeabigclubin2017 #thelandscapehaschanged £80m in installments is stealing it tbh. Bigger interest rate than wonga on his true value.

If Klopp could get Liverpool into a big game mindset for 'smaller' games....

I understand that it's not deliberate but he's kicked him in the head. Surely there's a point where it becomes a dangerous tackle/attempt to get the ball and whether or not he makes contact with the ball is irrelevant?

Liverpool forums are hilarious:
"Keepers fault, shouldn't have even been a foul"
"Hope it gets refunded"
"Won't be rescinded FA are biased against us"
" Didn't think keepers where in the rolling on the floor to get people sent off brigade..."

I have no vested interest but I thought it was harsh. Feels like if it'd be an outfield player it's a yellow.

The picture above shows his boot wasn't above his own head. If he'd have hit his chest it would have been a yellow, unfortunately he smashed his face so has to be a red, even though there's clearly no intention from the player.

Intent isn't a consideration
If it's reckless or dangerous then it's a red.
As a measure of recklessness saying anytime your studs mash into someone's head causing them to be stretchered off is a decent benchmark

One of the moderators on the big Liverpool forums posted saying it was clearly not a red. Someone quoted him saying Nani was right to be sent off for a stud to chest collision with a real Madrid midfielder.
He deleted the entire exchange.

I felt the challenge was slightly late, clearly dangerous, and a little reckless although imo there was no intent other than to win the ball. It seems harsh but it fulfills all of the criteria for a red card. Jon Moss sent off Xhaka for this foul last season: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olDew6cgmOk
