Thats tough to take, Arse never really looked like getting an equaliser. Sick to concede in such a cheap fashion as that.

Would have taken the 1-1 at half time. Cant grumble too much now that we're a day later.

Was a great atmosphere at Anfield, and a lot of support for the side and Roy (as you'd expect at the start of a new season).

Not seen the replays of the Cole red-card or the Pepe gaff for the equaliser, so can't comment on them as they were up the other end of the pitch.  All I will say is that Pepe has bailed us out enough times so he's allowed to make one mistake like that a season Wink, and it was a shame that Cole did what he did.  First red-card of his career I believe?

Can comment on Ngog's goal though.  What a belter!  Funniest song for him as well (to tune of Goodbye Hello by The Beatles)  "...I don't know why you say N'gog, I say Ngoh" Cheesy    He's still lacking something, but if it's confidence then goals like that will certainly help.  He got a good ovation when he went off, and that was only bettered by the reception for Torres when he replaced him.  Still not near 100% fit, but great to see him back in a Liverpool shirt.

As Aaron said, would have taken a 1-1 draw at half-time, but we went away feeling as though we'd dropped two points rather than gaining one.  Mascherano showed why he's worth what he's worth, and although Lucas did well when he came on (including a great crunching tackle near the half-way line), we missed the little Argentinian when he went off.

general opinion where I was watching was that liverpool players had backed the draw the way they were trying to gift an equaliser in the last 5 minutes. then reina throws the ball into his own net, it was like grobbelaar was back at anfield

Just seen the sending off incident.  I think it's harsh.  Wasn't two-footed, wasn't high, just mis-timed (he went to block the ball rather than go at the man).  Seen far worse go unpunished.

Agreed. If you factor in the type of player he is and the fact he's pumped for his home debut the ref should use a bit of discretion. A genuine attempt to block the clearance earns you a straight red? All this letter of the law stuff spoils the game. A policeman can give you a speeding ticket for driving at 32mph. But meh.

The rules of the game say it's a send off but a lot of the rules of the game are wrong, there was intention to take the man and yellow would've been suffice

Come off it. Clear red the foot was way off the ground. Dangerous and caught him. Simple red even though he is not a malicious player

It seems that alot of people tend to disagree with this, I thought you would have  a more old school approach tbh.

So YOU 'come off it' Wink

The foot that was off the ground didn't catch the player.  It was the other leg.

If Joey Barton had done it versus us I'd be going feral. It's not clear cut either way but I can see why the ref gave it.
