Hodgson was roundly criticised for signing Poulsen but Kenny is putting him in the starting line-up. Any criticism of Kenny?

I don't like Johnson at left-back - that's one criticism I'd have.  I'd much prefer to see Aurelio there (if he's fit).

Poulsen has been disappointing for me, as has shown he's a decent player in the past.  I'm surprised how much he's played, and expected to see less of him now Gerrard's back.  I'd personally prefer Lucas in the middle with Mereiles and Gerrard rather than Poulsen in most games.  Would I criticise Kenny for playing Poulsen, yeah I'd guess so if I think there are others available ahead of him.  I'd probably give it a few more games before it starts to overly concern me though.  Like I said, I think left-back is a much more pressing problem - as is Skrtel in the centre of defence.

Lucas was injured for last nights game he didnt even make the bench so obv Poulsen has been getting a game because Stevie was suspended and Lucas been injured, not like we have other options so I dont hold it against Kenny for playing him.

That makes sense then. Was out last night so missed all the team news and the match of course. How did Poulsen play?

OK...for Poulsen standards...didn't really do alot that i noticed...which isn't a good thing when he's in the middle of the park.

I would prefer Shelvey in the middle rather than poulsen, if we get  that low down the order.

I only saw the hour long coverage they showed on sky after the Carling cup match, I hate watching it online. There didnt appear to be any standout performances from what i saw, Fulham had alot of possession. i think Kelly played decent bombed up the wing a few times and defended well. The rest Poulsen included seemed very quiet, but we eeked out the win which was nice , bit of luck going Kennys way.

From what i saw, liverpool dominated the first half, and Fulham the second. Didn't think Agger was MoM myself. Paulson did ok. For a holding central midfield player, not noticing much about them usually points to a half decent game.
Johnson is a terrible option at left back, and Maxi goes missing in games except for when he has a shot that either hits the corner flat or goes up to row

Skysports.com reported on Wednesday that Wolfsburg's former England manager, Steve McClaren, had made an offer, rumoured to be £6million, to Liverpool's parent company, the Fenway Sports Group.

But Jovanovic has rejected the opportunity to follow former Liverpool team-mate Ryan Babel in moving to the Bundesliga after the latter joined Hoffenheim earlier this week.

Chelsea bid £35mil for Torres. Liverpool turn it down. Could he be tempted to go? Reckon he gives Kenny till the end of the season.

Wouldn't be surprised if he goes at the end of the season but wondering what Chelsea are up to? What's happening with Drogba and Anelka? Which one of the two is leaving?

Heard figures of up to £60M.  Hope there's no truth in it, and can't really see Torres going to Chelsea - but stranger things have happened.  Torres and Drogba up front together would be frightening - maybe we should put in a bid for Drogba instead... Wink

I think (and very much hope) that its just Roman flecking his finance muscle for maybe a couple of reasons.

With Chelsea falling away in the title race, and Roman not really spending alot over the past few seasons, rumbles started on the stands that they needed to buy, and buy quick.   So i think they are bidding so it makes headlines that pleases the fans.

The bid for Suiz looks good, but no way they were looking to win Suiz, Torres and the pair from Athetico (Another £52m if u believe).  But it looks good on the back of the papers and makes te fans think they are back in the running.

It is more likely a feeler bid to make Torres and his agents know that they are interested in the summer....put that thought in their heads.

Unless we have a remarkable run in and / or sign the big big names very quickly, he'll go in the summer.  KK has saved face with us, and we are improving, but have gone back a couple of seasons before we can compete again....he won't wait that long.   City, Chelsea and Barc only real clubs he could go to...assuming he's not interested in Italy (and could anyone in Italy afford him these days?)

£50M is the amount that would trigger a clause in his contract.

Sad news is that apparently Torres has asked Liverpool to negotiate with Chelsea.

Liverpool have agreed a fee of up to 26.5million Euros with Ajax for the purchase of striker Luis Suarez.

Is this good or bad news regarding Torres?

I was picturing Torres and Suarez been a formidable partnership If we sell Torres It will be a disaster. At least we got Suarez before Torres leaves the lad prob would'nt have signed if he looked at our squad and saw ngog as our main striker!

Got to be good news, surely?  Torres must see the club is moving in the right direction, and this shows the commitment from the new owners to spend some money.  Selling Torres now would be a total disaster.  Selling him in the summer would be terrible, but at least it would give time to find replacements (there aren't many who come close though) and I can't see Liverpool letting him go for anything under the get-out clause level.

With Suarez signing, and Mereiles and Gerrard in the side, and Kenny getting the side to play the ball on the floor rather than lumping it forward from the back - surely Torres must think he's going to get a lot more of the ball now?

What started out as a day that looked grim has suddenly got a lot brighter.
