The MArtinez press conference is being held in Wigan this week by all accounts so it doesn't look like him now.

Good read, AVB'S scouting report was intense to say the least.

But the reason for the conference is not known, and he's just speculating.
I've actually been impressed with how FSG have been conducting this process. Nothing been announced, no statements to rule anyone in or out whilst the discussions/interviews take place. Which is exactly how it should be (Dave Whelan should take note).

Can't see it happening, and I'm sure there are lots of names on FSG's not-so-short-list, and some are probably not serious actual targets.
If he wanted a different challenge though, this would definitely be different to the one at Barca!

Me neither. It'll be Martinez which I'm happy with.

How did Guardiola get on as a player under Van Gaal at Barcelona?
Didnt Pep leave after Van Gaal?

From the rumours (and they're probably just that), the talk is all about a young manager under a respected DoF. If the ethos of the club is right under the right DoF, does that make the coach's job very different to that of a manager who has a more all-encompassing role, and therefore the right candidate under one system would be very wrong under the other?

I think the problem you'll have is that the fans will be calling for LVG (if he is DoF) if MArtinez doesn't start quickly. It's a dangerous structure to put into place especially when it is known that LVG wants the coaching role.
