Where has the dynamic Liverpool of recent weeks gone?
Sturridge is that good?

No, but Sturridge releases Suarez who is that good to change the dynamic.

Posted earlier in the thread, without Sturridge a lot of the threat vanishes. Borini isn't a Liverpool player, and with Foster's performance and all the misses it was lining up to be one of those nights.
Johnson has been excellent, but was dire tonight.

johnson was dire
however he was apart from suarez the only player who kept attacking the box

Thought Downing had a decent game.

Great deal better in the second half.
Result doesn't matter much now unless you are bothered about a Europa spot.

Think it was karma as everything was going fine until Suarez pretended to step on a land mine in the box

Obviously WBA didn't deserve to win but that penalty decision for Liverpool was dreadful. Glamour team at home to middle team, struggling to break them down and striker falls in the box under vague challenge. Utter spinelessness from the referee.

Unlikely Liverpool would be in trouble from FFP. Anyone who thinks they would be doesn't understand how it would work. The point some of the media outlets are making (badly) is that had it been in place in recent years we would have been fooked.
Eh? So you agree that their recent behaviour would mean they would fail. But you are confident that they won't behave like that in the future? I'm sure Man City and Chelski can say that as well.
Yes that is exactly what I am saying.
Chelsea can, City can't so much but have found a way around it.

The increasingly annoying and ridiculous Alan Green opined on R5 last night that Liverpool should walk off if there is any racial abuse tonight. He even suggested that Brendan Rodgers may brief his players to do so.
You'd get huge support at home for such a move, but EUFA have no balls and would probably punish LFC rather than the racist-supported club.

http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/skrtel-starts-follow-live
Martin Skrtel starts against his former club, Zenit St Petersburg, as the Reds make three changes for their Europa League clash in Russia.
The Slovakian replaces Daniel Agger at the centre of Brendan Rodgers' defence, while Joe Allen and Raheem Sterling are selected instead of Lucas Leiva and Jonjo Shelvey.
Liverpool team in full:
Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Carragher, Enrique, Allen, Henderson, Gerrard, Downing, Sterling, Suarez.
Subs: Jones, Coates, Lucas, Borini, Shelvey, Suso, Wisdom.

Just the usual bollocks from Alan Green then. If only it had been him arrested and not Stuart Hall...
