Has anyone mentioned that all of Suarez' heinous acts have happened on the football field, by all accounts he is a quiet family man off the field, so all this garbage of calling him a scumbag or vile etc is the stuff of faux outraged drama queens IMO, try to gain a bit of perspective ffs.

Ah, he did it on a football field, then it's fine isn't. Of course it's fin to be racist and bite people.

As you were.

who do you support Aaron?

Sheffield Wednesday.

Not a Man U fan before ya presume Smiley

I don't play trivial pursuit with the family because I get ridiculously competitive and a row is completely inevitable, so we all agree it is best I don't play.

What you just wrote is the perfect reason why Suarez should not play football again.

I remember when a Sheff Wed player got an 11 game ban for gently pushing somebody.

FA have obv got it in for the owls too.

Wonder which teams they hate and which teams they don't and why?

Rio got a 6 month ban for going shopping and Eric got longer for doing some crowd control, they obviously hate Manchester United...

I don't think it's anything to do with the team he's playing for, it's more to do with the man himself.  Definitely public enemy no.1 according to the media, and looks like the FA feel the same way.

man oh man

the man has a history of inappropriate behaviour, in multiple countries

on a totting up 10 games seems about right to me

Yes I know the FA is inconsistent but to say he's public enemy number 1 is just bleating for the sake of it.

Rodgers comments yesterday were woeful too. Needless setting liverpool up as the victim

I like Liverpool, don't support Man U and like to watch Suarez but really this is a slam dunk 10 game ban and to try and apportion blame to the FA is just laughable

I can't believe the media keep going after Jimmy Saville.

When he wasn't visiting children and the vulnerable, he did a lot of good charity work and was great on telly.

He's not very popular in Ghana either.

Joking aside, the punishment feels harsh particularly since the Mcmanaman tackle on Habibi went unpunished.

Liverpool obviously need to work on making him feel loved and wanted but I wonder how he'll cope with the increased level of abuse he's going to get in every game when/if he plays again.

No I agree with Kin. The fact that the oppo munching, muti-negrito uttering, dive like a salmon volleyball champ of football is public enemy no.1 is quite unfair.

all of this. I was going fucking bananas at the tellybox yesterday tilting at Rodgers' comments. Thinking of himself/Suarez as victim and then saying that 'where he comes from he has to survive, it's a survivial instinct' OH PLEASE TELL ME MORE ABOUT HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO SURVIVE ON £100k+/WEEK.

Then he's saying 'it feels like the FA are punishing the man' -- well of course they fucking are, the prick doesn't learn.

He's a nasty piece of work and it's better for everyone if he just leaves football all together.

Whilst on a football field he knows that having bad self control can be bad for both him and his team, and with thousands of witnesses, he behaves appallingly.  Yet, he goes home, closes the door and with nobody watching behaves like a saint.  Really?

I think he is a great player two, but think there is nothing at all surprising about the length of ban.  I have no idea why his club were surprised.  Surely they must have had at least an inkling?

No Dave, I'm being a whinging Scouser apparently.  So not sure what that makes you.

I haven't said the 10-match ban is excessive.  I just think that others have got away lightly from their 'misdemeanours' in the past, and that the media and FA certainly have their favourites to love and hate.

Rodgers just utterly  embarrassed himself with his comments, really pathetic attempt to try and make Suarez seem like the victim by getting 10 games. Not good for his rehabilitation my arse, another pathetic attempt from this great club to once again defend the indefensible.Even thinks the PM is working against him too. Think Rodgers needs to understand his place in the chain, he is a football manager talking bollox.

10 games was light imo, should have got 6 months in some kind of totting up ban.

#prayforSuarezinhisrehabilitation....as he pockets around £1 million in wages.
