Liverpool are rather clueless if they dispute this. They should be happy as I doubt he will be off to bayern now.
Ban should have been longer. Shame really such a great player.
Our striker got banned for 7 games for tripping up a ref. that was used as basis for this ban according to ssn.

1/10 on City trying to sign him in Summer, another matter whether they get him though, Barca bound imo. (Barca shouldn't take him btw, far too good for his antics)

Stop making stupid excuses. Guy deserves his ban.
Ferguson agrees the FA system is a joke. No one is disputing the ban, just that the FA procedures are wrong, arbitrary and inconsistent.

... and any reasonable football fan will recognise that the FA disciplinary process is flawed.
The right result this time, but more by accident than design. Next time there's a case expect an inconsistent and arbitrary decision.

"so Peter Costa can't lament inconsistency in the FA when the whole business of football is massively inconsistent. The priority for the FA here is to show kids learning the game that biting your opponent is not acceptable, so a 10 game ban is more than fair to that end".
Football is massively inconsonsistant because of the FA - and that should not be the case - certainly not an excuse for ther FA or anyone else to use. Should football or anything else not be about putting right what is wrong,? Should the FA not be looking to change it instead of ensuring it's growth? As for the FA - I thought their job was to run our game with fainess and inergrity above all esle? What did they show the kids when they found Suarez guilty of racisn despite no clear evidence and just based on balance of probability and how they treated Terry when it was clear what was said? I know what it taught it me about the FA and our game. So the last thing I need from them is to teach my kids.
First bite 7 games.
Second bite 10 games.
Looks like admirable consistency to me.
If that had been part of their judgement, it would make sense. But it wasn't. The previous incident wasn't part of the judgement at all.

The judgement was to send out a strong message to kids. Liverpool moaning about the suspension and saying the judgement is biased sends out a terrible message to kids, esp about respecting authority.

Suarez has to be accountable for his actions, but so do the FA.

The 10-match ban is correct, but that doesn't mean the means to that end were correct. Surely they SHOULD have taken his previous for biting into account? I would have thought so. The FA disciplinary procedure is too arbitrary, and that's a terrible message to send out to kids about how justice should be worked.

True dat. I don't really understand the clamour for consistency because it isn't a court of law, so talk of "justice" seems a bit dramatic. I think handsomely paid prem league superstars who are watched by millions around the world carry an extra burden to set the right example. So when BR says the penalty is against the man rather than the offence I think he's prob right, and perhaps a Grimsby player would've got less. Those with more power to influence may well be judged more harshly and I'm ok with that.
Maybe prem players should distribute their wages amongst the lower leagues so we can get some consistency in wages across the board as well? Inequality in football is a fact of life and I don't see what mileage Liverpool are getting from being the policeman of what constitues fair play, esp considering the recent conduct of their player.

Seems like everyone agrees that Suarez should be punished by an independent authority and the sanction that applies should be free from political bias or influence.
Off we go to court, then.

Luis who?
Good start for Liverpool (apologies for the after-timing, but Agger was 35/1 to be first goalscorer
), and the second goal was exceptional play from Coutinho and Sturridge, with Henderson there for the finish.
Newcastle aren't looking good though at all so far.
