If Suarez wants CL football etc he wont be a disruptive influence if he stays. He will be a pro in training and during matches cos if he sulks he wont get in the team regularly or perform to his full potential, then his CL ambitions go down the toilet. I think these days with so much $$ in the game the stroppy top level pro footballer is much rarer because you're only shooting yourself in the foot. Don't think Liverpool have anything to lose by not selling if the price isn't right.
Really? More going to get a tevez response than the one you describe IMO What is the tevez response? The one where him and mancini had a spat about whether he did or didn't refuse to warm up? As far as transfers go Tevez handed in a written transfer request in 2010 and was told to gtfo by citeh who said he was going nowhere. Faced with no option he withdrew his request and stated his "absolute commitment" to the club. That season he scored 50 goals in 73 games, including 2 goals in the game after he was forced to withdraw his request. He was then given the captaincy.

No I was more thinking when he left the country during the season without permission and refused to play for the club he was contracted to

Massive difference here between a grateful ronaldo and a self centred Suarez. I'd really not want a player like Suarez hanging around for a year, bringing down morale and causing discord in the camp.
Get the £ early and spend it wisely is your best bet IMO! I think there is going to be great opportunities to pick up a "number 2" striker who wants a lead role in a world cup year!
Similar characters IMO (in fact I'd find it less likely Suarez would be as petulant as Ronnie was in his last season, or Torres for that matter) but my point is the transfer dynamic is similar from Madrid's POV. I doubt he'd come as we have no European footy to offer but I'd take Higuain + 20m in a heartbeat. It's more likely we'll end up with Sturridge & Aspas.

Tweeted by John Henry at 7:42am:
@John_W_Henry: What do you think they're smoking over there at Emirates?
Apparently in response to a £40m + £1 bid for Suarez. I guess there's no clause then.

"Liverpool owner John W Henry has asked what "they're smoking" at Arsenal after rejecting the Gunners' improved offer of just over £40m for Luis Suarez. The unusual bid of £40,000,001 was designed to trigger a clause in the 26-year-old Uruguay striker's contract. Under the terms of Suarez's deal, Liverpool must inform him of the bid but do not have to accept it. Henry tweeted: "What do you think they're smoking over there at Emirates?"

I was wondering the same thing myself actually.
I find this all too weird to be true and can't wait for AW to get back.
