Re centre backs,

Would really like to see Godin of Atletico join but IIRC he signed a new contract fairly recently so seems unlikely.

Of the rest , the Dortmund duo of Subotic and Hummels are probably going to be at the top of any future buy lists.

No chance any of those 3 will leave there clubs and even if they do you will have to pay massive money for either of the Dortmund pair

Whilst you are clearly playing as well as anyone atm. Similarly to us when we had the sweat for 4th place, I think your playing quite a bit above were you are actually at.

Looking at your 1st 11, they only player of those 11 that City would want for there 1st 11 is Suarez, Chelsea would maybe also like to have Sturridge back as he's better than any striker they have but I think they'd go elsewhere. Turn that around, at least 7 of Chelsea's 1st team yday would walk into your team, and I'm probs being kind there, City's normal 1st 11 probs all a lock to walk into your team.

Seems like a few itt think you are gtd to be back challenging for the title for the next few years, whilst I think Rodgers has done an excellent job I wouldn't agree with that.

Which is why I don't understand at all the happy with top 4 comments at all.

Unlike us though I don't think your in a false position completely as I think you probably are the 3rd best team in the country, but I think you are a lot further behind Chelsea and City than the table suggests and a lot closer to the others who I expect to all heavily strengthen in the Summer, Man U especially.

I agree with your last paragraph.

The who would get into who's team doesnt work for me. Our team is both settled and balanced. Whilst on paper other first XIs are better I'd rather be us.

Fergie lived the last 8 years of his career creating a team that was better the individual talents elsewhere.

You'd really rather have your 1st 11 then City or Chelsea's ? Who I'd say both also have a settled and balanced team.

Ofc a team sheet full of stars doesn't always work, was just trying to make the point that I think there's still a big gap between Liverpool and the top 2.

No perhaps not - especially when CL football is a consideration, my point is we're over achieving due to a gelled and balanced side in the first half of the season, whilst two new managers tried to address balance issues in theirs. Which is why I agree that next season will be v hard.

As we stand I don't know if I'd swap our position for one of the others at this moment. (Cue disaster next week) I don't care that other individuals are better. We've hit a peak at the business end. Although there are signs the others are about to as well I'm not sure it has happened yet.

Although I've said all the above, I think you could definitely beat both City and Chelsea at home, I hope you have no slip ups between now and then so they will be great viewing, I'm looking forward to them quite a lot, mbsfn to be doing so as a fan involved in the race.

With the likes of Suso, Borini, Ilori, Coady, Robinson, Ibe, Coady, Wisdom, Assiadi and Reina all returning im sure squad depth will be fine. Obv Reina is an expected departure.

1 or 2 elite CL class signings is what is needed.

I'd like an upgrade on Jones as well as no.2.

Yeah not been in one in years. 2009 we should have won it but it was never a race past Feb.

This is the first genuine one since 1990 IMHO.

Have to disagree we need better squad players going forward to challenge for titles agree and wisdom,Robinson and Ibe have talent and would definitely like a better back up keeper jones would struggle in the championship, think we need a quick cb and I think sakho could do that job myself would be great to get shaw in at left back just think he would cost too much I'd let to gt lallana in myself from the saints
