So good.

Could you imagine what this thread would be like if Suarez had been kicked out of Anfield, as so many people (including Liverpool fans) believed he should?

Funny old game, Saint.

Still clinging to an average team + Suarez? We're not Spurs - Bale FFS! Smiley

You are a bit tho Smiley

There's very little on paper in the squads of spurs, arsenal and Liverpool. You definitely have the best player tho.

Having him fit and not doing horrendous things has been the difference between you being odds against for fourth and competing for the top two.

I guess it makes people feel better to think that.

We've won midfield battles vs every major club this season without exception even in the two losses to Man C and Chelsea.

Suarez was Suarez last season only now he's on steroids. The players who have gone through the roof though are Henderson, Sturridge, Sterling, Coutinho, to a lesser extent Allen, Flanno, Skrtel. Gerrard is playing pain free for the first time in 2 years - hes been incredible. In games Suarez misses were fine. Brenda is the biggest difference.

You guys literally got dragged through games by Bale on his own.

Fair enough. We won't convince each other and I don't derive the same enjoyment annoying Liverpool fans on their thread as I do on the gooner thread, so I'll leave it there.

Spurs have made some appalling decisions with the Bale money and I can't pretend I'm not hideously disappointed

Serious Q, would you take last seasons's best XI without Bale over your best XI this season?

IMHO there's not much in it.

But yes obv agree on how the money was spent.

It hurts to say this but I really like the way Liverpool have performed this year (with the obvious exception of not enjoying last Sunday's game)

Suarez is an animal, Sturridge has matured wonderfully well as have Henderson and Sterling. With Gerrard deriving energy from the players around him and Johnson and Flanagan benefitting from the style of play I'm looking forward to the World Cup more than I was too.

It hurts even more to say that I'd actually rather Liverpool won the league this year than Chelsea or City. Obviously I'd have preferred Arsenal over all three but that horse looks to have bolted.

For me, Liverpool have been the most entertaining side to watch play this year.

Can't agree on Arsenal though, David.

Adz had a tough day got beat by the shortest of short heads in 500pm lingers.  Think we should cut him some slack!

"Luis Suarez equalled Robbie Fowler's 28-goal record for a Liverpool league season with a hat-trick as they kept the pressure on Premier League leaders Chelsea by seeing off Cardiff."

The season's not finished, and he missed the first five games of the season.  He's been immense, and yes before the season started I was of the opinion that despite his undoubted talent he was a risk and the club was probably best of selling him.

I was so very, very wrong.

Here's a question. If Liverpool don't win the league this year will Suarez stay? I had an even money £100 with a friend - I have yes - but he is convinced he'll be off.

I think as long as they're competitive, and in the Champions League, he'll stay.

This for me.

Realistically I don't think Liverpool could have expected to win the league this year at the start of the season.  They have a good few young players who can grow and get better, they hava a manager who is very astute and they have money and the board have shown they will back their manager.

I think Liverpool are the next team in the EPL to go on an upward curve.  They are imo, still a few players short of being a top, top team.  I think Rodgers will bring in the reinforcements in the summer and I think Suarez stays.
