but you were stupid enough to pay however much for Carroll?
?
A different transfer set up then. Also offset by Torres sale. Not comparable.

There is 100% not a clause in Suarez's contract.
If he goes its £100m+
just like if lallana goes its £30 million + or is it one rule for liverpool and another for everyone else?
I don't understand your question.
Liverpool aren't stupid enough to pay that for Lallana. Real are for Suarez.
you were saying that saints should let lallana go for 20 million earlier in thread dispite the saints wanting more but it's different when a bigger team comes in for a Liverpool player
And yes I compare Madrid to Liverpool as Liverpool is to Southampton
No I wasn't, please don't put words into my mouth. I was saying Liverpool shouldn't go above £20m. I'm amazed we went to £25m as Lallana isn't that good. If you want £30m for him good luck to you. Hopefully it's not us daft enough to pay it.
With Madrid they have the means and ambition to pay it.
The two transfers aren't very similar.

Iron, what are you on about? Myself and Aaron have both said that Lallana is a very good player and would want to see him at Liverpool. But not for £30m which is excessive for him in our opinion.
Southampton can decide how much they want to sell him for, and if they want over £25m then that's fine, but I don't think Liverpool should pay that for him and should look at other options at that price who are arguably better players and would give more to Liverpool.
Where has anyone said Southampton should sell him to Liverpool for £20m? That's just the value that's being placed on him. Same way as you can price your house at whatever you want, but if you overprice it, then only someone who really wants/needs it will pay that price. Sometimes houses are overvalued by the owner who sees at as worth more than it actually is when compared to similar houses on the market.

What I am trying to say is that you guys were talking it was a done deal and Adam was being allowed to talk to Liverpool without a fee being agreed and that if Adam wanted to leave he would be and the price was going to be 20 million
I said unless you meets the boards valuation then it won't happen,
Now same goes for Suarez he won't go unless Liverpool board allow it
Madrid price him at 70 million baron thinks 100 million plus it's upto
Liverpool board to put a price on him or draw shutters up

Who said it was a done deal? I did say that unless Lallana puts in a transfer request, it will be very unlikely to see him at Liverpool.

Purely speculating here;
Would we be happy getting Lallana for £20/25m and getting £100m for Suarez?
Who is out their to take over (not using the word "replace" as thats impossible!)
Another speculative;
The £100m - spent on?
Godin - £30-35m
Shaw - £25m
ANother Forward £40m
Be happy?

fair enough you did post after saying it wasnt a done deal reading more into it
baron seems to think saints were just letting any tom dick or harry talk to our contracted players
to unsettle them and for them to ask for transfer
not going to happen only when saints get a fee the board is happy with will talks start
same goes for madrid and suarez
if a price is agreed then talks can start and not before or its called tapping up

Lallana sounds like a done deal in the region of £20m. Good news on a number of fronts. Means we have hopefully got him before others join the fray and his price rockets, and also means one of our major targets is signed before the silly season really kicks in.
Also means we're less likely to be going after a World Cup start like Diouf or Diao back in the day.
Lallana should fit into Rodgers' team philosophy very well, and he'll definitely add to Liverpool's attacking lineup next season. Will be happier when it's all signed on paper though.

Lallana very close.
to collapse?
Genuinely hope it does. Shaquiri is better and cheaper.
Unfortunately it is likely it will be announced next week.
likely to be announced next week without a price being agreed yet talks cant take place till that happens surely or are you saying liverpool are illegally tapping up a player?
You jest Iron? If they are listening/negotiating you realise Liverpool will have probably had permission to come to personal terms long before a final fee and method/schedule of payment is agreed? That's not to say it won't fall through as they can't meet in the middle, but that doesn't mean personal terms and permission to speak to a player don't happen a long time before that. Perfectly legally too.

Sami is a legend. Hope he helps bring you success at Brighton.
Maybe they'll be some linkup between the clubs going forward, wouldn't be surprised if there's a relationship there.

Wisdom played well against us in the play offs but we have a right back sadly.
Reckon we might go for ibe in good time when he's settled in. He flies in on Thursday for his opening press conference.

Clubs talk to a player's agent long before they talk to the club. Sorry Iron but it's a fact of football transfers. When it happens with a club's permission it is because the selling club knows it will release him at a set fee (in this case £30m). That won't change the fact we've spoken to Lallana, probably agreed wages and bonuses and more than likely your clubs knows this and in this particular case if there's a small enough difference between offer and sale price we've likely had permission too.
Tapping up (ie without permission) happens a lot too, ie on most transfers. Most selling clubs know this also.

Well from the reports I have heard liverpools offer of 25 million is a 10 million upfront payment will add ons of 15 million 10 million of which is likely never going to be met especially as most of it would need 3/4 season to mature at which point Liverpool would get rid before payments kicked in
I really hope his heads not been turned by agents etc that he refuses to play on at Southampton cause that sort of offer is laughable and no wonder the saints have knocked it back

I beleive Lallana has told the told he wants to go, without making a transfer request. Soton will have to make a decision after the world cup - do they stick the their guns and tell him he's going nowhere unless their asking price is met; risking a unhappy player / forcing a transfer request.
Or sell him at a buying pricing based on the fact the player wants out. Likiness i think will be 25m restructured (not just a liverpool offer though)
Lets hope he has a superb World Cup, so much so his price becomes 40m!!
