From what i've read about the situation i'd expect a good outcome for the club and fans, but what's the likely impact if things go against you?

We'll be on -3 points and G&H still don't get any profit from their investment.  NESV say they're in it for the long term, so don't see why the club going into administration would put them off the purchase, unless of course it meant that we'd be relegated.

Is there any danger of the club doing a Portsmouth? Or are things not that bad?

Even on -3 points i'd be astounded if you got relegated, TBH i'm a little surprised you've started so poorly.

My brother in law and i were chatting about the situation, he thinks the current team are the worst he's ever seen ( he's 42 btw ). I disagreed, maybe its my memory but i'm sure that Souness had a worse side player for player?

This is nowhere near the worst team of the last 25 years.

I was at the first league game of the season against Arsenal - and we played well.  Most fans were disappointed with the draw, and if we were playing Arsenal tomorrow a draw would be far more than we'd expect!  Not sure how things have gone so wrong so quickly really.

The team Souness managed to destruct was far worse than the line-up now.

Key points

* We are likely to win and the sale will go through according to most legal experts - every claim made by H&G's QC was rebuffed very well by RBS'
* NESV, Broughton, LFC and RBS seemed to do a good 4 Vs 1 job in court today
* If we dont there is a good chance RBS wont necessarily put us into admin as it means a lower value on the club - this is technically no reason to as once the debt is removed we're the most profitable club in the land
* A decision is out at 10am tomorrow but the judge apparently said he cant see an outcome (including appeals I'm guessing) before Friday so we're relying on RBS to act in good faith (or their own interests)
* The new investor has not been received well by LFC fans. He's making it more likely for us to go into admin/another bidding war with a potentially bad owner as the outcome.
* NESV are generally accepted as the best owners we could hope for

Is it not just a case of RBS win and club is sold or RBS lose put Pool in admin and the club is sold?

Pretty much but there are two things going on here. H&G trying to lose as little as possible. And Broughton trying to keep the club from admin which will mean a potential firesale and owners more in line with the Pompey ownership saga than someone trying to restore the club to the top. Poachers looking for a quick buck without the funds for things like a stadium etc.

Congratulations to the Texas Rangers who have beaten the Tampa Bay Rays to go through to the American League Championship Series against the Yankees.
Beating the Rays was the first post season playoff win for the Texas Rangers in their 50 year history.

Tom Hicks owned the Rangers until earlier this season until he lost the club as they went bankrupt.

The team survived and have won their division and face the Yankees for a trip to the World Series.

I hope Mr Hicks is gutted that the club got stripped from him before he could fleece anymore money from them.

This for me is a sign of the recovery Liverpool can make once Hicks is kicked out of town. I will be cheering on the Rangers for the rest of the playoffs. I hope they win the World Series for the 1st time in their history.

LFC 1 Hicks 0

Might be the only victory we get this season, but it's the important one.

Judge rules that owners should pay RBS costs.  A friend just said to me "I wonder if they'll take out a loan for that." Cheesy

Broughton wants a board meeting by 8pm today to sort out the sale and there is a dispute over whether the owners will be able to communicate via phone. The owners' QC is asking for the meeting to take place at ten o'clock tomorrow. Judge rules that it should be at 8 today.

H&G have no right to appeal apparently!
