Was he sacked? I read that he walked out because they sold a player behind his back and he did it out of principle?
Very much this. But I don't think Mantis wants facts to get in the way of his Roy-love.

Commolli and Bodgson were at the Wigan Newcastle game scouting Jose Enrique apparently
Well, you do need a full back obv. Don't know whether Jose Enrique is up to the job but I haven't seen him play all that much, he looks OK. Is he much better than Insinua?

Insua was a liability last season, and was ruthlessly exploited time after time. Aurelio is leagues better than Konchesky, but is made out of meringue - and so we definitely need someone else to play left-back/left-mid. Same could also be said for right-back.

Very much nothing Kin. Highlight the quote where I say Rangnick was sacked by Hoffenheim pls. I didn't even know he'd left Hoffenheim. Hence the German pub team remark. I think you don't want the facts to get in the way of Mantis-hate. I don't love Hodgson, I just think blaming him for everything that's happened at Liverpool and booing him off the park is pretty unfair and unproductive for the club really.

Alberto Aquilani's agent expects Juventus to sign the Liverpool midfielder on a permanent basis.
The Italy international is currently on a season-long loan at the Serie A club and has been one of the stand-out performers this season.
Juve have the option of turning Aquilani's spell into a long-term deal and the 26-year-old's representative, Franco Zavaglia, reckons the Bianconeri will honour their agreement with the Merseysiders.
Zavaglia told Radio Sportiva: "The release from Liverpool depends only on Juventus but I think there will be.
"Alberto is very, very happy in Turin and has found an environment where he can express himself."
Zavaglia believes the former Roma schemer benefited from his brief time at Anfield, adding: "The English experience has been good, it has enriched his international background."

You avoided the point that has been repeated a number of times about the way Hodgson has got the team playing. Do you think his tactics and general strategy is sound?
(and I've never booed a manager, haven't blamed him for everything that's wrong at Liverpool - why say that?)

You've avoided the point I made in the above post yourself.
Anyway, to consider a guy with so much experience and football knowledge tactically naive is not an opinion I hold. I think the guy has obviously lived his life for football, is well respected in all football circles and his advice has been sought by UEFA. I think he has faced numerous challenges since his arrival, many of which were not of his making. I remember when he first started at Fulham the results were terrible. History tells you he isn't an impact manager but a steady long-term manager who builds something given time, exactly the sort of manager Liverpool need. A couple of thousand booing scousers from dotty council estates think they know football better than Hodgson, but I'm afraid they don't. My point about booing was general and not personally directed at you, and it's a perfectly valid point, that's why I said it.

I was one of those who was happy when Hodgson was appointed. Of course he's no noob when it comes to football management. However, it's the direction he's taking us, not in terms of the results, but in terms of the approach and the way we're playing that's the problem. We have the players to play a far better passing game than he's set the team up to do, and a midfield that doesn't need bypassing everytime the keeper or defence has the ball. We've seen small glimpses of what the side can do.
He said he did against Wolves, but the side against Bolton was plainly far better (once the 'rested' Gerrard was on the pitch). Interesting line up for tonight's match against Blackburn:
Pepe
Johnson Kyrgiakos Skrtel Konchesky
Lucas Gerrard Cole Maxi
Ngog Torres
(allegedly)
As for Rangnick, I don't know if he's the answer - I was just saying that it would be an interesting choice and I like his footballing philosophy. Some of the other names being banded about would also be very interesting, especially the established names such as Hiddink (if only he was available). There are very few who are being associated with the role that I wouldn't prefer over Hodgson now.

Liverpool on offer at 9/2 to win at Old Trafford on Sunday...
All other issues aside, games between these two have frequently produced counter-intuitive results.

Lpool end only two-thirds full at Bburn. Real show of dissatisfaction with Hodgson. First time Lpool failed to fill allocation at Ewood.

Respect from Fifa, his favourite journos, mates at Sky or the Fergie/Fat Sam fan club? Great. A respected scandie journo said recently he was massively respected in the 80's - there's no way he'd walk into a top club now.
History also tells us his record at big clubc is pretty terrible.
Lol what does council estates have to do with anything? Do you see why you are pissing people off? Wum.
Liverpool fans are incredibly tolerant. Houllier got a season too many as did Souness. Hodgson is not good enough and the facts support that statement.
