I'm not old enough to remember Dalglish managing before, so have no historical attachment/'he-cannot-do-no-wrong' attitude towards him.
Has a manager from the '80s moved on in his thoughts enough to cut it today? I hope so.
Yes he watches every game, but old habits die hard I imagine, some good, some bad I think.
A canter into mid-table and a modern summer appointment I expect/hope for.

I think one of the big things is the respect he will get from the players. He's also keen on players playing in the position and the way they play best - so no round pegs for square holes, etc. I also expect fewer aimless hoofed balls from the back to the isolated Torres.
Normally, losing to manu makes me miserable, but after watching how we played yesterday overall and the optimism that Kenny brings, I'm feeling positive about things. Hopefully, the performances in the league can match this.

I think the game looked closer than it actually was because ManU stepped off the pace and switched off. They knew the game was won after Gerrard left and flipped to cruise control. So it will be interesting to see what happens in the next game. I like that Kenny is old school and positive and I hope it has the desired effect. However what's happening with Torres? His body language is so negative and this can only be contributing to the team's general malaise. WTF is wrong with him? Dalglish had no real effect on the result imo. Liverpool still beset with players making stupid decisions and not playing to their potential. When you're in a hole this happens as well as decisions not going your way etc...unrealistic to think Kenny can have a dramatic impact, but I hope he does.

Possibly, but I cruise-control generally means you're two up and keeping the lion's share of the ball. They had neither, and weren't so steady. You're right though - Gerrard's silly red made it an impossibly difficult game to chase.

It certainly has with the fans, and even some of the players yesterday looked to be playing with a weight lifted from their shoulders.

I don't know. It's not good if he continues this way though. I'm sure if anyone can drag him out of it, it's Dalglish. Be interesting to see what happens over the next few games.

I must have been watching a different match. Thought lots of players played very well - Kellly, Kuyt, Reina, Agger, Aurelio to name 5. Players were played in the their correct positions, and the right players started the match. I'm not sure Roy would have gone for the same starting XI, which was half of the problem.
Maxi flatters to deceive, and not sure he's going to make it in English football, which is a shame as he's an undoubted talent. Lucas and Mereiles didn't shine yesterday, but they were working in a side that was a man down (and a man who adds a fair bit to the side when he's there).
Overall though, I thought it was a good performance from the 10 men of Liverpool against the 12 of manchester.

It's going to be very interesting. If the squad is as poor as Hodgson maintains, then Kenny would have to work miracles. He's only got the side he inherited from Roy after all

Just play Dirk every match, at least you'll have someone who puts in some effort.

wtf at the amount of people saying man utd had 12 men. The decisions were fine (not a man u fan). And even if not it wasn't even funny or witty in the first place.

Eh? Have you decided to completely disregard all the posts that have been made about why Roy had to go? It wasn't the results, it was the way he had the team playing, the way he selected the wrong players for the wrong positions, and the other things he got wrong. Like I said, if we were playing good football and he'd made the right strategic and tactical decisions the losses wouldn't have mattered half as much. It's a rebuilding process, but the emphasis is on the building. There wasn't much of that going on.
If Kenny decided to play the players out of position, resort to hoofing the ball (compare and contrast Reina's distribution versus Wolves at Anfield this season and last, and you'll see what he was instructed to do by Roy), and then commented on a 2-0 defeat to Everton as the best the players had played and how happy he was with them - then yes, the fans wouldn't be happy.

A lot of people are saying that. Also that he's a signing for the long-term rather than just to work alongside Kenny. He seemed to do well alongside Mourinho at Chelsea.

Ludicrous comment really
I am neutral, and could see why both yesterday's decision were given
No point transferring ire to someone like a ref who will make mistakes really, its just a bit petty. He's not corrupt, or biased, or else he wouldn't have been at the top of his game for years and the English FIFA ref would he?
On a lighter note, Ryan Babel is being done by the FA for a retweet offence

6 months is not long enough to get things right. U seem to have judged Kenny on 1 game where you were average at best. Not really sure what game you were watching Dan. Liverpool were poor against a Man U team in 2nd gear.

+1. Nice scapegoat for Kenny in his first game in charge. Berba going nowhere and Agger decides to put a foot in. And Gerrard gave ref a reason to send him off for two feet in the air.
