Gerrard has missed more than that. He was something like scored 10 missed 5 a few years ago.
http://www.lfchistory.net/Stats/PlayerPenaltiesAll.aspx
Yes, he's missed a few - 7, if I can count properly from that list (obviously scored a fair few too). But Kuyt has taken 7 and scored all of them. I'm more confident with Kuyt taking them than Gerrard anyway.
Of course Kuyt has a good record at the penalties he's almost a German*
Gerrard is English and thus ill-equipped for the task. See also, Waddle, C; Southgate, G; Beckham, D, and of course, Terry, J.
Liverpool recognised this and Hamman was onviously the first on the list in Istanbul 2005...
*Kuyt was born in Katwijk aan Zee - The name "Katwijk" probably has its origins in the name of a Germanic tribe called the Chatten (Chatti). The Dutch word "wijk" means "area", so the name probably meant something like "the Chatti area".
Haha - boldie will love you for that

Thing about Istanbul was yes, we had a German take the first (with a broken bone in his foot), but Gerrard was down to take the next one (the 5th one) until Dudek made the winning save...

According to reports in Belgium, as a result of the interest from United and Liverpool, Liege have decided to cash in on Defour this summer.
And it has even been reported that they are currently considering £9million bids from both Premier League clubs.
This would be a great signing in the summer, will have to battle Utd for his sig, but i think this guy could be the best signing in any position we could make.
Also talk of Aqualini's move to Juve being finalised for next season.
Young will make his decision at the end of the season.
Talk of Armero the Udinese left back signing, im really not sold of Enrique.
Still looking for a big name centre half. Cahill or Mertersacker would be great.

The save that changed history...
Germans are of course famous for playing on with broken bones. Well, Bert Trautmann is anyway.

Steve Clarke in new contract talks. He could well be our most important signing of the season.

Yes, him and Kenny are of the utmost importance.
This is an interesting article:
http://www.adifferentleague.co.uk/p6_1_7312_the-kids-are-alright-for-kenny-dalglish-and-liverpool.html
The highlight being that we don't need a squad of fairly good internationals if we have the youth available to fill those squad places. What we need is some VERY good players to come in (as we have with Carroll and Suarez) to give us a better quality starting XI. It goes back to Shankly's quote about three to play the piano and the rest to carry it. We need more than three though...

When he's fit Gerrard shouldn't really be taking corners either, and a lot of free-kicks. There are others better suited to those roles, and if Gerrard isn't taking corners he can be used to head the ball (he has a decent header on him) or to loiter on the edge of the area as Scholes used to do to great effect for manu.
This. Gerrard is good in the air. Why he used to take corners when Alonso was in the side is beyond me.

Now there's Mereiles and Aurelio (when he's not broken) to take them, amongst others.

I thought Defour had another long term injury or did I imagine reading that somewhere?
