I thought each pos was worth half a mill ? If I where a Liverpool fan I'd hope we weren't in the Europa Lge.
If you're talking prize money then about 800k between positions. When you add the split from the TV rev share it's a lot more. I'm certain it was over £2m per place a few seasons back. But surely: [X] Finishing above Spurs after the start to the season we had = priceless? Even more so when you hear Redknapp hailed a genius everywhere you look! Please let it happen.... Hard to disagree he hasn't done an amazing job at Spurs tbf, Europa League is no bigger than the Carling Cup imo and takes a lot more games to win. Hard to disagree that they are currently in the position in the league that reflects their level of spending. Hard to disagree that when he took over the job the previous manager had spent a lot of money and the club where bottom of the league. Hard to disagree that the previous manager had underperformed. Hard to disagree the current one hasn't overperformed taking 4th spot from a team who spent £400 million and then reaching the Champions Lge Quarter finals in there first season. You not a Harry fan Kin ?

I'll try to dig out numbers for those interested but the last EPL winners bagged about £50m all in. The last CL winners were at about £40m.
The prize money is just a small part of it.
But the last CL winners got less from the rights pool, an English side would get more... True but that's Inter. In 2008 Man Utd won more for the EPL than the CL. Since then the EPL payout has become slightly flatter and will continue to do so with the emergence of City and Spurs.

At the end of this season Spurs will be about par for the course in 6th postion (I hope)

Agree with the press comments but I do think he's done an excellent job for Spurs and I hope he's next England manager.

Agree. I just think there are better, less vocally rewarded managers in the prem.

Carroll's had a nice pay rise!
Cole shows that the idea of a 'free transfer' is far from it for the club concerned.

This is according to a Portugese website called football finance. I'm starting to doubt it though. Ballague has said quite clearly we'd not get Aguero as he's on double what Gerrard is.....

Too lazy to trawl back through the thread and find me saying it when he signed but...Told you Cole's salary was proposterous and completely out of whack with his capabilities. Nice to see everyone coming round to that idea now

Some of the figures don't seem quite right. But overall they show that footballers get paid far too much
