Agreed he was never the quickest and his ability to read the game made up for that. But in all honesty that is not enough now, He can see where it is going but isn't always quick enough to get there and if often seen dragging people down and making unecessary fouls. (tried looking for exact stats but cant find them) Giving him one more season without an external backup plan is too risky imo! Kelly and Wilson are good prospects especially Kelly imo, think he is class! but i would prefer to bring someone in who is experienced, yet has a good few seasons left in em, who is willing to lead the way for the young uns.
Carra is 33 now and i think he would need about another 2.5 seasons to break the most capped Liverpool player of all time, although most of us would like to see it happen it's not realistic. I know he would like to go for it but playing 45 games a season since 1996 is gonna take its toll. It' not like Giggs where you can let him ride it out, Centreback is too much of a crucial position imo. Also the older you get the more injury prone you become and Carra has had enough injuries in his time as it is. Not a massive fan of kyriakos, he is far too much of a liability for me.
Don't get me wrong, I will still wear my Carragher top with pride, not just wanting to send him to the glue factory here, happy to keep him in the wings, mentor, bring him back for the big games etc. Who to bring in is another question and one which i can't say i have the answer to.... not 100% sure who will be available either.. Gary Cahill has obv been talked about and i think he would be a decent purchase.

Well Henry promised investment, and so far the net spend has been pretty much negligible, but they have said they are committed to building the side.
Who will we be shipping out? Cole for a relatively smallish amount and Aquilani?

I think it's essential Liverpool invest in central defenders over the Summer. It's clear there's been a big upturn since Dalglish took over but people shouldn't get carried away. What Dalglish has done is lift the malaise around the club and he's been able to do that because he's Kenny Dalglish. Just like Kevin Keegan could do at Newcastle. The honeymoon wont last forever though. Last night's performance was exceptional but it was against Fulham. If Liverpool want to be top 6 they should be dispatching Fulham. But if Liverpool want to be top 4 however it's a different kettle of fish with much tougher games to be won away from home. Sorry but Kyriakos, Carra on his last legs, Skrtel, sick note Agger, and a couple of kids just wont cut the mustard at the highest level in the toughest games consistently enough. Now that Liverpool look classy going forward again I think it's optimistic to think the back line is sufficient if you have CL aspirations. I expect Cahill to arrive some time soon.
This. Skrtel for me was partially at fault for both goals IMO.

I hope there's a good £40m to spend after sales. We need at least one CB, a LB, at least one winger and another forward IMO. The centre of midfield is still open to debate also.
I would make masses of sales though, we need depth.

Liverpool's pursuit of a new left-back has taken them towards a possible signing of Arsenal's Gael Clichy, with the north London club reluctant to meet the player's salary demands.

How are the transfers going to work at Liverpool? Is Damien Comolli the one who picks the targets and then discusses them with Dalglish, or will Dalglish want to go after the players he wants - or some combination of the two? Until Dalglish is signed on a permanent basis I'm not sure how strong any of these transfer rumours are.

I love the Fulham interview with Kenny - He must have used the " pass and move" phrase at least 4 or 5 times. Good to see/hear that ethos back again at our club.
Can we gage how serious the is gap between Comolli and Daglish and the " i do the transfers" stall on the contract?

I don't think Dalglish is making a ridiculous stance that he has to be solely in-charge of transfers, but I from what I hear he wants a big influence in the direction the recruitment goes.
All sounds fair and amicable at the moment from what I've heard - but that's all hearsay, pure and simple.
