Wow, this could be the worst LFC performance for a long while. Poulsen et.al. proving why they should be a million miles from the club. Not proving to be a great run-out for the players trying to impress though. Making that Baros fella look like a world-beater though. I reckon he deserves a CL winner's medal...

Liverpool FC this afternoon issued the following statement:
Steven Gerrard today began a course of antibiotic treatment for an infection related to an ongoing groin problem.
He is expected to remain in hospital for several days while the precautionary procedure is completed.
The player will then return to Melwood to continue his rehabilitation programme and is expected to be available for selection in September.

Reina Johnson Carra Agger Kuyt Hendo Adam Meireless Downing Carroll Mereiles has an injury I believe, not sure when he'll be fit (could be before the opening game). I'd have Flanagan in the full-back spot, but guess it depends on how Dalglish wants the side to line-up. From the rumours going round at the moment, it could be Jose Enrique. |

Don't really care tbh. The line-ups were never the strongest XI, and the players didn't appear to be playing in order to establish themselves in the manager's mind for the first XI. I guess he's using what he sees in training rather than (just) these friendlies. Aquilani certainly hasn't done himself any harm though, that's for sure. |
