The problem yesterday was midfield. Gerrard and Lucas were terrible.

Our fixtures have let us tell a league table lie. Top 4 with the current midfield will be a real stretch.

Just watched the Fulham game again.

Gerrard was simply superb.

It's a funny old game innit

Gerrard has been your stalwart for so long that any dip in form is picked up on. I know SAF claims not to have rated him but I think most fans would have had him in the team instantly (if Scholes were unavailable obviously)

What's going on with Raheem Sterling?

Can we have him back please?

Dropped due to poor performances and less than perfect behaviour off the pitch.

Joe Allen is another who has fallen out of favour with Rodgers (also was out with injury), and he was the blue-eyed boy who could do no wrong at one stage.  The lack of European and league cup games means that they might have played some games this season, but they've not had the opportunity.  Wouldn't be surprised to see either out on loan if they're not getting a chance in the first team squad.

Might be wrong though.

Pretty rare these days for a lad so young to be thrown into the first team of one big clubs with no experience of first team football from either going on loan or playing in the League Cup/Europe.

Not really surprising his head was turned a bit by all the adulation.

Hope he gets another chance soonish.

He's a bloody good talent, just hope he lives up to his promise. Could be a top-class player.

Seems to have gone backwards since that Xmas but was carrying an injury 2nd half of last season can't see him playing a lot after Xmas I'd like to see him go on loan as regular football would help him greatly as he has loads of talent

He he very good. Yeah exactly he's had his best season for us this year in about 3/4 seasons. I think he's finally acclimatised to the deeper role.

SAF says what he has to in his book. Very much like Zidane saying Deschamps was the best midfielder at Juve (dig at his replacement Nedved) or Scholes is technically the best midfielder he's played against (dig at Barca players). The world knows SAF had a cheeky approach for SG at that time. Carraghers book full of the same. Find it a bit childish tbh.

Bit like when managers cant ever say the other team were robbed in any decisions. I lost a little bit of respect for Mourinho after the West Brom game when he said it was a definite penalty, huh what ? Not really interested in wasting a few minutes of my time listening to somebody telling an absolutely ridiculous bare faced lie that is so obv it just insults the listeners intelligence.

Shame that there is never a point were just a little bit of respect is showing.

Reason number 72 of the 100 reasons I no longer have the love of football that I used to.

Our midfield without Lucas is worthless. Great game. Shouldn't have been though.
