Lambert is 34/34. Such a boss. Also said he would take them for England without hesitation.
This video is pretty good:

He's never missed a penalty during his professional career - is that correct?
Yeah, it's not a good situation at all for Southampton. You've had a very good season, and now the club is being plundered for its prize assets. Manager gone, star players next. I think Liverpool will pay a little over the odds for the combination of Lallana/Lambert/Lovren - but Saints are right to hold out to get as much as possible for them. With Spurs and other clubs interested, then that might provide a price hike as well.
From wikipedia:
"Since joining Southampton Lambert has built up a reputation as a specialist from 12 yards. He has converted his last 34 penalties and has not missed from the spot since moving to Southampton in 2009, a record that is rivaled by few in the footballing world"
He has missed two penalties in his entire career, not missed one for >5 years though.
Saints will re-build. The money will be there to spend - its been well accepted that Lallana and Shaw will leave. Ditto on the manager. More worrying that Lambert, Lovren etc may go.
Its fine making sure each individual deal works for the club, everyone has a price. I think that will be the case for Lallana and Shaw. Not so much for Lambert but can't really stand in his way of his boyhood club given what he has done for the club so sort of understand that. If Lovren does go then that will cause some real ripples at the club as he is an outstanding centre back.
I will wait to see the situation we are in at the start of the season before worrying. A top European manager and having spent >£50 million on re-inforcements and we will be fine.

The great thing about that video is that none of them were remotely close to being missed!
He can strike the ball so hard that if it is right in the corner (which it is time after time), its almost impossible for it to be saved.

Nobody?
Really?!
Liverpool don't need any strikers but have signed an established name (notwithstanding they spent £35m on a lump up front a few years ago).
Is Ancelotti's "la decima" present being giftwrapped?
Makes quite a lot of sense when I think about it. He's a plan B. He's cheap - a quarter the price of Bony who won't be happy with bench duty. He's a huge red. Aspas and Borini are likely to move on. £4m looks fine even at 32.
So you don't think it's the start of preparation for life without Suarez?
Eh? £100m Suarez with £4m Rickie Lambert? I know Spurs spunked their Bale (Bail?) money but we're not THAT tight!
Surely the reasoning above makes just slightly more sense?

He's definitely not a replacement for Suarez.
I didn't say that!
It wasn't intended as a dig. If you're expecting a big - possibly irresistible - offer from Real for Suarez, it makes business sense to bring in someone straight away who will:
- Improve the squad depth now at minimal cost; and
- If Suarez goes late and it takes longer than hoped to get a new guy in for £40m or whatever, you have at least got a reasonable interim starter/bencher, whole you're trying to spend the money.
Liverpool won't rush the decision either way. They've shown themselves to be too smart for that. Bringing in Lambert is a good business move IMO. I nevertheless think there's a possibility being considered after the World Cup that the 'phone will ring.
I'll just step aside from this completely, as I'm obviously rubbing people up the wrong way

No fella, not at all, just genuinely don't see the relationship between the two. Even the Madrid rags aren't doing their PR campaign, nothing from player or agent, Perez says no Galactico this year. Pretty nailed on to stay? I'm not seeing a £4m bid for a 32yo Soton player having any great meaning when pretty much every party has said he's staying?
Obviously we'll sell him now and this was Brenda's first coverage in hindsight, but right now I don't see it.

I take your point tho. If we sign Diego Costa for £35m then I'd be worried.

£25m offered for Lallana. This should be our ceiling.

Might be excessive already? He's a talent undoubtedly, but that's a lot of money.
I've heard the bid is time-sensitive as well. Not sure how long it's on the table for though.

Yeah I'm agreeing. We've tried to buy the two from Soton we don't need so much and left the one we do!
