They are a tabloid newspaper. They posted fewer than a dozen twitter posts. They don't have to post a balanced article, and often don't.  It'd take me a few minutes to find hundreds of positive tweets about the Lambert signing from Liverpool fans.

Daniel, they dont have to report a balanced article, why do we think they "reported" this story in this manner?

It's a clear mis-representative of the general feeling, at best to early to gauage liverpool fans true views on it, on the face of it an intended 'pop' at Liverpool.

I dont get why!?

It's a tabloid.  They want to create controversy and sell papers/get website visits to sell advertising.

No difference until he puts in a transfer request - which he may or may not do.

I guess so. It's more simple than i gave it credit for i guess.  Silly queation really, as when did any tabloid care about whether a story is true or even realistic

£25m for Lallana is a bit of a joke. Move along.

Fabregas wouldnt just be 5 mill more though

Over the course of an at least 3 year contract you are talking a lot lot more

His Barca contract is massive personally not been that impressed with him at Barca last two seasons obviously a good player still though

25m is bloated for him, and doesnt make sense spending that when we are desperate for a CB or Defender alot morecthan we beed another midfielder.

Comparing someone else fee doesnt always work- i agree fab is  worth alot more than the 5m difference. But then we paid 20 for hendo/ at the time seemed very bloated- maybe not so much now?!

Then fellini went for 28, making lallana a bargain at 25

BREAKING: Liverpool are set to sign Emre Can from Bayer Leverkusen for £9.75 million

Liverpool are set to sign Emre Can from Bayer Leverkusen after activating a £9.75m release clause in his contract.

Brendan Rodgers has been chasing the Germany Under-21 international for a while and has been over to personally check on the player's progress.

The 20-year-old is an energetic box-to-box midfielder and should provide the Reds with extra impetus in the middle of the park.

Always tend to overpay on English footballers, remember - especially given UEFA requirements re: CL football and the use of homegrown talent in squad.

Not that we are facing any issues with that, to be fair.

That'll be quite a coup.  Bayern wanted him back apparently (a buy-back clause they can activate next year or something?) and then there was a sticking point over his wages.  Looks like all that might be sorted.

I believe he can also play centre back - which makes him additionally versatile for Liverpool.
