Chelsea fly back tomorrow and go up to Liverpool on Friday. If ever there was a time to go at them at full pace it's Saturday.

You reckon?  I think it needs to be a smash and grab raid rather than an attempt to go and get at them.  Would love to be proved wrong though Smiley

Was Balotelli Rodgers's signing?

Was Balotelli Rodgers's signing?

Not really.  He didn't want him initially, and he doesn't fit the mould of the sort of player Rodgers favours for the style of play he wants.  That said, he was 'relatively' inexpensive, but is proving to be a costly signing because Rodgers continues to play him - and it's impacting on the performance of the team as a whole.  I'm not sure why Rodgers has given him as many starts as he has, and I wonder if he'll continue to do so.

There is now apparently concern over the legality of the transfer (third party ownership stuff). Not sure that's much more than stirring.

Make no mistake there is a subtle arrogance about Rodgers' belief in himself.

The Remy/Ballotelli signings are very difficult to learn the truth about (for a change) but Rodgers 100% has power of veto (or Vito) on any player. To an extent Ballotelli was at least partially his doing.

Yeah this is a really good piece.  It is written by Nick Goff who is Corals head of football who is a pretty good judge.

Another very good piece by Mike Goodman in Grantland today about the demise of Gerrard (and Toure).  As a neutral I think Rodgers biggest challenge is finding going to be the whole process around dropping Gerrard which is going to be emotionally and politically difficult but is absolutely neccesary if they want to win in longer run.
